I'm voting yes! Mainly because I missed all the other ones.

If you are going to do it, sort out some proper counting mechanism... Offsite if need be!! You can create a free online survey no fucking danger.

Bit of a farce this year with all the stopping and starting.

although having the publics opinions while voting for the best this or that.. i usually tend to use verifiable statistics to measure who is among the top... music sales, booked gigs, listener count, web traffic, etc. since votes are what one person or another may 'think' is the best.. its not a true representation of who is pulling ahead and succeeding in the genre.

none the less.. its still very informative to get a general consensus of the public and what or who they are into at the moment. feedback is key.

ill cast my vote!

cheers

The awards is one of those things where people can get the props their deserve!

From the biggest Djs and producers, to the up and comings, people who run blogs and sites to boost the community, people who run nights, shops, etc.

Its a good look for saying to these people.. "We appreciate what you do for the scene"

Yes from me.

i vote yes, but under one condition; only if there's a roller disco at the end of it.

dont think its a great idea. the thing about dubstep is the many directions and sounds it covers.
recognition for producers etc is a good thing, but..
what could happen is it could cause more copying of the 'winning' styles in the future. this would lead to a situation similar to that of dnb. (a fragmented scene where everyone follows certain styles, and there is less experimentation and crossover of styles).

just my 2 cents ( or none sense if u prefer lol).

I think a more positive step would be to have a Dubstepforum Plop awards, where the top 5 most hated producers are rounded up in a paddock and attacked with iron bars and bricks.

yea.. i think some offshoots from the normal award threads should be in order.. kinda like the high school yearbook things.. most likely to succeed, class clown, most likely to end up in jail... =]

Nah this is well cheesy. Really don't need an award for who the most dubsteppin dubstepper is.

i dunno how feasible this is but it might be nice for some of the overseas/out of london steppers to have a party for this on the same night (presuming that if it went ahead there would be another party like the one in london), dubstep is much bigger than london now, and if people have the time/want to do it, that could be celebrated through having a few parties for this in other places
