Grime?

Post by jongerre » Wed Jul 30, 2008 11:08 am

I used to be into grime but slept on it for a bit and want to get back into it but I can't seem to find any site's to buy new stuff on vinyl. Do grime mc's and producers just not put anything out on vinyl, is it all mp3's or mix c.d.'s or am I just not looking hard enough? Also who is big in grime at the moment, mc's and producers? If someone could help me out it would be much appreciated. Cheers.

my favs at the moment are:

Young Dot / Dot Rotten for sure
Rude Kid
and Trim is still releasing good shit...

Nothing really on vinyl at the moment as far as i'm aware, though No Hats No Hoods have put out a couple of big 12"s from ruff sqwad and rude kid recently which are well worth a punt. I'm not super-knowledgable about grime though so i'm probably missing loads.

Few bits of grime creeping out on vinyl lately to be honest.

Silencer- Wow Bass Vol 1
Maniac's 12" on NHNH
Fused Forces
the Ruff Sqwad one on NHNH

More coming, it's creeping back albeit incredibly slowly.

I resent the implication that I started www.grimetapes.com after that thread because the site idea was around before it- as were tapes I was ripping with that in the tags- and I've owned the domain for a year.
No send, you're just incorrect.

I aint gonna lie I absolutely love Grime but no matter what people are saying it is slowly dying, in the vinyl side that is! We need some serious grime beats to shake things up a bit. Nocturnals doin a lot caught him n Logan recently good stuff.
