agreed, just like funky
its not like people call techno tecchy or house housey...but maybe they should

SO maybe the music is called Wonk?

hate the word, it does sound cheesy and stupid, how exactly can music be wonky? does the bpm speed up and slow down in the middle of every bar or something?
i just thought it meant sniff k and dance.. wonky innit.. yeah.. whey.

it actualy has to do with the mid range sound, explore some... there's wonky hip hop, dnb, dubstep, country, and so on
just about as cheesy as the word dubstep

a couple of years ago there was a FWD night/podcast where kode9 played mala's bury the bwoy and crazy d said 'this one the wonky donkey.' a while after that it started being used to describe off-kilter or experimental tunes, tracks with galloping kicks, etc. not sure how direct the connection is but that's when it gained currency. i hadn't heard it regularly before then anyway.

^ the term wonky has been used for a while actualy, crazy d might have been the first to use it to describe dubstep, but for hip hop and techno the word has been used before
