I donno, i have just noticed that some bands are ether gone, sort of dropped out of the genre, or just struggling. Is Rap Metal dying?
Limp Bizkit
Linkin Park (minutes to midnight has less hip hop influences to it)
Shootyz Groove was to rise to fame in the late '90's but never did
I liked Nu-metal. Now they are incorporating alterative into their music?? IMO it is kind of ridiculous that it may be dying. Well, if it seems that way, buy your linkin park cds for nostalgia

it's been dying for a while now. a lot of genres die out after being commercialized. i liked nu metal back in 1998-2002. but after that, it kinda died out for me.

I had the first Linkin Park album when it came out, I think you're a bit behind on the times, rap metal or nu-metal or whatever it's called has been dead for a long long time.

Thank fucking God it died...I was waiting for it to die the first time I heard it. I saw Limp Bizkit at the warped tour right before they hit it big, and my friends and I were in the stands at the stadium just throwing shit and giving them the finger, fuck off Durst!!!! He was such a dickhead, and was telling the crowd to fuck themselves.... what a dousche bag.
Also Korn, the wackest band I ever heard, the one whole album it was just them saying,"fuck you" in every song, the same 3 chords over and over, every song. my friend thought it was cool, I didn't, I had to listen to that crap the whole way to the beach...errrrrrr....

Yeah limp bizkit a lot of other artists killed it. But there were other good bands that could of made it. Like Shootyz Groove. Their high definition album was the best. If nobody knows who they are, that is because all of these shit faced mainstream artists distroyed nu metal. check shootyz groove's high definition album here Go to multimedia and high definition from 1999 and tell me how good it is:

Great album and has a positive influence. I recommend easily, put down the mics and NYC minute.
But now they are trying to be like everyone else these days. its kind of sad.

For me, nu-metal was all about Deftones, System Of A Down and early Korn. It transformed into rap metal quite quickly but for a short period it was good. Cant stand to listen to it now. Everything but the first SOAD album leaves me cold.

I mean, If Linkin Park's transitioning out of numetal someway or another, better throw out Mr. Hahn and Mike Shinoda. One's a DJ and an mc.
SOAD was good. I liked everything from their Toxicity album up. I wasn't to into their first one. But korn, every song these days has to have ME in every other lyric pernounced Muaaah! Like,
Get of Of muaaah!
Beg For Muaaah!
and more muaaah's follow after in their songs.

i think deftones go way beyond nu metal or any other pigeon holes. maybe a few songs.

Thats what I was trying to get at. To begin with it was just a load of different bands doing something different with metal. Then it was labelled, then rap based metal became popular, then the whole thing turned to shit.

deftones were never nu metal. they were always one step outside the box.

Wait, ....I totally forgot about Biohazard. Thanks for reminding me. They were the original. And I loved those guys back in the day, Punishment was such a dope song. To think I saw them open up for Slayer and almost got killed in the Giant mosh pit. HAHA
Ok, so I like 1 rap metal band.

can't listen to it, self obsessive, self pitying shit like linkin park, it wouldn't matter whether they rap or not, they're still whining. and when they made an attempt at being poltical with one of their recent singles, some sort of reference to the war i was just fucking insulted, they don't have the right to do that just to sell records. turds.
