Recommend me some Dubstep to buy or download

Post by saba » Sat Jul 22, 2006 12:44 am

Ok...some im your boring junglist thats caught on to the dubstep bug. Anyone keen to point me in a good direction, to download any good dubstep mixes online or CD's that would be essential listening.

That's exactly @ the stage where I am. But, I am just alternating between dnb and dubstep.

You might can get a idea from http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=5747

And, if you want to go the step further, just when you happen to be listening to the mixes, look @ the tracklisting and see which producers happen to be in a lot of them or have more than one of their tunes played. But, don't forget to still listen to the mix or you'll miss out on a real good tune just because its the only tune by them.

Mods, this is why it would be good if you had a link bar or a links page that could direct newcomers to sites with mixes and texts that will help them get started. Build a network. Get some reciprocal action.

Dubstep Allstars are a good series of mix CDs, released by Tempa.

i mix hardcore/jungle & dnb. i find a lot of dubstep boring tbh, but there are a few tunes which i've bought. i'd recommend these:

loefah - mud
Digital mystikz - ancient memories
digital mystikz - earth run a red
skream - I (loefah remix)
Skream - skreamism vol. 1 & 2
Toasty - candyfloss (loefah remix)
luke envoy - gamma
digital mystikz - haunted

i think these represent the cream of the genre. a lot of dubstep is boring though, some one said this ( http://www.redeyerecords1.co.uk/sounds/cat8512.asf ) was clever and intersting, no, it isn't, it's boring and shit; i find a lot of releases of this ilk, boring, un-moving music, beard stroking music? nah, its not that good! its falling asleep through sheer boredom music! i dont think theres any middle ground in this genre, its either shit, or its good.

at the moment i think the shit is out weighing the good in dubstep but i think it should get better.

Was just thinking the same. I got the popcorn already in the microwave. As soon as I see that things might start heating up, you know its time to pop in the corn.
