Any under 18 gigs?

14... Well too young for dubstep raves, you definetly wont be able to get in to bars here in the UK but I'd check for festivals or outdoor events like that, some might have some good dubstep sets on.

dj mystery put on an under 18s dubstep & grime night about 4 months ago in exeter. he also sorted some local under 18 grime crew to mc. annoyingly hardly anyone turned up cos one of the kids decided at the last minute to have a house party, so they all went to that instead - ungrateful feckers.

yeah i have been to a few dubstep gigs at festivals, saw magnetic man at glastonbury.

14 is a bit young to try a club but over 16 you might as well give FWD ago on a sunday.

All about filling in a application for a student card in one of those pens you can rub out. getting your tutor to sign it then changing your D.O.B.

This is one of the best tricks ever, I know some people who get the student card for amazing prize reductions on public transport and then erase their name and give it to their friends. Then they can just get another one.

Anyway this might be the place to ask since I'm curious : how ofted do you see 18+ gigs? As I've said I don't think I've ever been to one.

Lots of gigs in London are 18+ and nearly all are 16+

On a similar note I went to the U18 festival in Victoria Park last fri which was surreal. I was doing press though not a dodgy one.

Not many people drunk for a festival but everyone was very hyper.

Is FWD for over 16's then? or are they just more relaxed than other places about age restrictions, would be pretty sick if i could get in to that.

FWD is over 18 and normally check IDs but arent fussy about what kind of ID in my experience and arent too strict on a sunday.

sick, thanks for the advice man. ill try and sort out some i.d for sunday; shouldn't be too hard.

i think ill do that student card idea as well when i get back to college, i thought about it a while ago but i never got round to doing it.

Can you believe this?

About 3 months ago, at my school we had a Yr. 9 assembly and there was this guy from the council that came in and was offering us application forms to get an 'under 16 ID card' he claimed that it would be very useful when using public transport to prove that you can get child fares. It's a bit silly if you ask me.
naturally i did not apply for one of these cards.

I'm not saying kids shouldn't experience music at a party. I just dont think it needs to be a proper rave. Under 18 parties should be thrown, but if it's going to be set up at a venue at night maybe keeping it under 18 would be a good idea. I know not everyone has an ID from the uk, though... or do all schools issue ids now?
