im reading Enter The Dragon at the moment, cant remember off the top of my head who its by, but its basically about history of tribes/armies of china/asia...starting with the mongols going right through to the present day...some wicked shit going down in this book, highly reccomend it

its a great book if u liked it and havent read this, try also brave new world by Aldous Huxley... another classic along the same lines set in London 2540. ace book.

that's on my to read list too. i did a dystopian literature course for my english literature degree and yet somehow managed to not read these two classics (or most of the other great books on the reading list

)

Finished The Drowned World by JG Ballard a few weeks ago, after hearing Kode9 and The Bug going on about it in interviews, figured it was worth a read.

Brilliant book... the idea of london becoming a semi-flooded tropical swamp is hypnotising. Sitting on the tube sweltering and listening to the new FlyLo album probably helped, such a good combination.

I loved 'Money'. Amis at his best, though 'Times Arrow' comes close.

I've just finished 'Chinese Whispers' by Hsiao Hung Pai. She's a Guardian journo who went undercover to investigate the world of undocumented Chinese immigrant workers in the UK. It's pretty harrowing stuff - people who leave their native land in the hopes of finding a better job to provide for their family yet end up being chewed up and spat out by the system, working illegally for 12 hours a day, under constant fear of arrest, and then handing over almost all their meagre earnings to criminal gangs and moneylenders.
It's a good read though my only criticism is that it feels like it was rushed to publication - few typos and dodgy sentence constructions that should have never have made it past the editing stages.

i finally finished Haunted the other day and i'm definitely glad i did.

its pretty twisted but there are some really good stories in there. worth the read if you're a Palahniuk fan.

Read nearly all of his books now. I love the way Banks builds a story, just when you start thinking bugger all is going to happen, you turn the page and blam all hell breaks loose. Yesterday i didn't put this book down for five hours (apart from to make Tea of course)
