that tune is frankly annoying. the hook is good, but that synth is just wrong.

It's an arts blog I write for, with a general audience, not a specialist dance crowd, so I kept the initial post quite vague and not really topical beyond talking about the 1xtra show... it gets into a bit more detail in the discussion below, including a shout to the Bribkin

Feel free to weigh in!
Thanks Joe!!
Well I weight 8.5 - 9 stone, it seems to fluctuate greatly often in relation to how much I drank the night before (drink more = weigh less = dehydration).
I do have some more thoughts, hopefully they'll come out later.

U must be from Sunderland.
Township Funk has such a warm simplicity, i have been humming that synth line for the last week. My falsetto is getting polished.

I want my beats to sound like arrhythmia.

I have been enjoyin this set recently, after firtsly being very hessitant to get on board with Funky, as I have been listen to dirty hosue tunes and techno for a long long time and most of it has decended into cheese. But this set is wicked and the really grimey street end of this music is so raw and energetic that I'm finding the odd tune an absolute delight.

I heard an interview he hasd with DJ Rupture and enjoyed what he had to say about "Funky House". Very cool. And even more interesting the comments he made about the whole dubstep scene in general. Great listening pleasure!
Big Ups Kode!

I love a good bassline.

I enjoyed the Kode9 mix - but I wouldn't make a habit of listening to this.
I went through a period of listening to funky house, broken beat, deep house and nu-jazz stuff - which this sounds like. I still re-visit it, but I'm baffled as to this 'new genre' thing that 'Funky' is trying to be.
After getting so hooked on the dubstep thing for the past couple of years I'd hate to see a big crossover to this sort of stuff from lots of producers. I'm all for innovation & progression, but this seems relatively far from dubstep as a genre.

Strange that you'd say that after hearing Roska - Feeline.
