Post by Dub_Fiend » Wed Aug 20, 2008 12:43 am

Hey all,

Got a tune in the making that I wanted to drop on here so people could lemme know what they thought of it... It's a remix of Meshuggah's "Future Breed Machine" track and I've only worked on this today really but I wanna know what people think so here it goes :)

Link is here, C&P into browsers cause it don't work on here properly:

u gotta give people time. there's alot of good music out there. If you want faster feedback talk directly to people like your friends or known djs.

As for your tune posted here, It starts well, heavy. I can't really hear the the tune tho cause the myspace player sucks. got a Virb url ? From the myspace fuggin player it sounded umm muffled, heavy bass lines screechy but the guitar at the ambient break was nice. Then the armageddon screeching mahem starts again. I would suggest going with that chunky bassline and easing off on the squelchy Freakout acid noises. the snare hits right. I like the gunshot kinda sound. go with a more FUNK and BASS Driven sorta like primus kinda rmx know what I mean ? Better that than some nightmare Acid trip. The beat is wicked too but again i wasn't into the screaming screeching sound effects. Go with actual instrumentation like you did with the guitar. try horns instead of the fingernails on the blackboard type acid trip stuff.

lol. You must have had a shitty trip at some point.

But i really like this track. Dubstep-metal is always good. i agree with Sio about the screachy sounds but i would just use them a little less often and eq it a little.
Cant wait to hear the final song though

really rumbly.

This could blow minds if you nailed the levels, and EQd it a bit to up certain sounds, and take down some of the ambient noise that cloggs the mix a bit.

Thank you all for your comments :D I have been chatting to people and listening to the track a lot over this week and I agree with pretty much all the comments that have been given...

I'm definitely going to structure the track slightly better which was something I wanted to do, and I'm going to make parts more varied so I'm going to take out some of the ambient SFX at some point so it doesn't get as terribly grating as I assume it is for you all :P I was also thinking of adding more real-life instruments in... like possibly some vibrato strings or something like that, as well as a vocal sample or two cause it could really do with it. Ideally, I'd like a voice track over the top that's been bitcrushed and distorted beyond all recognition, screaming the lyrics to the song out :D but I doubt that's gonna happen lol

As well as this, I've fiddled with the EQ a fair amount and I've managed to get the bass to be really low and clear, I took out some of the reverb though I'm planning to set up a send with the bass frequencies (200Hz >) removed so the bass is still clear... I've got a friend working on it with me and also myself and ninja_kid should be working on a remix of the finished track once that's out :D

Hope that's all what you wanted to hear ^.^ Should have it done over the next day or two...

Keep you all posted,
