I thought it was amazing. I loved the idea that was put across. The fact that a child, or indeed anyone can be brought up in that situation and deal with it. He did a great job of showing all the themes in a child like way, the film never got overly harsh despite the subject matter.

i agree. i think terry gilliam held on to the theme very well, it could have went down a much darker route. portraying it from a childs point of few was what added to the storyline.
it has upset one or two of my friends, but i think it was their loss to point out how certain situation could have went.

it looked amazing too. the colours used and what a place to be trying to live...

dont think my mum would be a fan tho'

Its definately not to everyones tastes. Doesn't Terry give an intro warning people at the beginning? It definately does make you think about certain things. The fact that she starts a relationship with someone far older than her seemed to upset a lot of people, but mentally he is still a child so does it still mean its wrong?

but childlike mind or not people still saw an adult.

one of the girls i know came up with a good point. that he may have had a childlike mind but he would of had adult chemicals in his body urging him to do something and because of his condition, he possible may not have been able to control himself. she was saying that this alone would have been there subconsciously for viewers and would have been enough to set off alarm bells and raise the potential darkside to the story.
she thought it was a great film btw.

Do adults start relationships or is it just a game? I know a few peeps well into their 20's who go around pulling women for sport.

From what was presented in the film it never looked perverse or out of order. It seemed to be there to deliberatly confuse the viewer. It certainly wasn't as black and white as child abuse. I didnt see that at all.

*good point, it is game and and don't win as many matches as i like

i didn't see it either, but some people seem to point out the bad in certain situation. one of my mates does this loads, his loss i suppose...

i saw the kingdom last night.
good film, some of the violence caught me by suprise at the start. straight in, no kissing. BOOM!

Rogue with Jet li and Jason Stratham. good action, not too cheesy or lame (just enuff

Last film I watched was 'Days of Glory'

I've currently got a Mike Leigh film on DVD from Lovefilm

It's called 'Meantime'

Meantime is a 1984 film directed by Mike Leigh.

The film details the travails of a working-class family in London, struggling to stay afloat during the recession under Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's premiership. Only the mother Mavis (Pam Ferris) is working; father Frank (Jeff Robert) and the couple's two sons Colin (Tim Roth), a timid, chronically shy individual, and Mark (Phil Daniels), an outspoken, headstrong young man, are on the dole. This situation is contrasted by the presence of Mavis's sister Barbara (Marion Bailey), and her husband John (Alfred Molina), whose financial and social loftiness appears to be a comfortable facade over the unspoken soreness of a lackluster marriage. Gary Oldman makes his film debut as the quirky skinhead Coxy.

Im eagerly awaiting the release of Bangkok Dangerous. Love a good action flick. Anyone seen any reviews yet? Don't let it be a Turkey.

After all the hype i was a little dissapointed by the latest Batman. All seemed a little souless to me. Much prefer the old Tim Burton interpretation.
Talking of which i was very surprised at my self for enjoying Sweeney Todd, im really not a fan of musicals but twas most entertaining.

I'm assuming it's a remake of their earlier film by the Pang Brothers? If so, don't get your hopes up too high. It was ok.
