electro recommendations

Post by bjackman » Thu Sep 04, 2008 8:25 pm

can anyone recommend some electro for the dubstep community?

all i know about electro is noisia's label Division is the BEES KNEES
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =139955226

and spor who turns everything he touches to gold does a pretty good job of the slow stuff

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... =206665621
i don't really like the tunes on that myspace but his tune Mordez Moi (on noisia's new fabriclive) is the CATS PYJAMAS

i'm not even sure if any of this actually does come under electro.. help please

Its become too commercial.

The stuff from a few years ago was ten times better, this album is good, just excuse some of the commercial tunes on there: http://www.ministryofsound.com/Music/Al ... roTech.htm

erm- that's excatly the sort of stuff that ISN'T electro in my language.

Aux 88, dopplereffekt, bunker records, drexciya, man parrish, I-F, interdimensional transmissions, dynamix II, hashim etc etc...

THAT'S electro.

i dunno what they classify it as but some of the stuff on ed banger records might interest you if you like the harder/weirder/sometimes glitchier/arrogant sound.

To me "electro" is an adjective now, not a genre.

Electro Bass, Electro House, Electro Funk, Electro Breaks, Electrocore, Electroclash, Electro Pop, Electro whatever...

The real problem purists seem to have is when people drop the "house" from the end of Electro House and just call it Electro. But like I said, I think Electro is an adjective used to describe the sounds in the music...

In many peoples opinions the only real "electro" is Kraftwerk; everything else is an off-shoot...
