You certainly didn't understand the sarcasm in my post, and it's silly to think that me saying that is somehow going to trigger "jackbooted thugs".

"Wage peace" doth not mean censoring someone else's anger. That's how you create jackboot thugs...

That is indeed something I'll take to heart. There's just not exactly a fine line anymore when it comes to civil liberties in the States. They are charging reporters and activists with aiding terrorism as I am sure you already know.

Best to not draw the wrong kind of attention. Nobody said you can't draw attention to the cause. How does wishing people harm help your cause?

i agree with that 100% seckle! neither party is perfect. absolutely. which is why i'm so adamant about people and their generalizations about republicans vs democrats.

the thing is....for me personally...nominal democrats aren't always entirely progressive enough. There are Democrats who don't believe in gay marriage/adoption, who don't believe in affirmative action, who believe there should be limits on pro-choice. There are Democrats who are for capital punishment. There are Democrats who could give a fuck about what's happening to poor people. Dems who are Dems because their parents were and their grandparents were. Dems who are racist, classist, and misogynistic.

Likewise....there are pro-choice Republicans. There are Republicans who are for gay rights. There are Republicans who don't believe in God. There are Republicans who are for stricter gun laws and control and don't believe in capital punishment.

So....when Dems get hypocritical and start lambasting Republicans for the same behaviors they exhibit, it looks ridiculous. If you care about the issues, thats one thing. But Democrats aren't entirely progressive and Republicans are not all NeoCons.

I thought it was funny that a partisan quoted one of the founders during one of the conventions, talking about how "Political parties" would be your undoing... "Mission Accomplished"
