that is litreally exact, hold tight the move stealers
I won't buy drinks, just because I don't know them well enough to.

I have however, had a full blown discussion on Religion and Philosophy in a club with a girl once (try talking about God with Pendulum on at 280dBs!!), and we ended up getting trolleyed and back to hers for a nightcap.
I bought drinks then... because i felt i had engauged said lady enough to warrant drinks.

It just depends on the situation
yeah but even if you don't know someone that well yet, i don't think there's anything wrong with grabbing them a beer or whatever, if i've been chatting to a girl for a while, and i'm getting a drink anyway, i think it'd be a bit rude to not at least offer...
Yeah, but girls EXPECT guys to pay for their drinks on nights out.
A few of my girly friends take like £10 with them when they go clubbing because they expect guys they dont know to buy them drinks - they pay cover and get one drink each, and the rest of the night, they barfly and just look for guys to ply them with alcohol while they flirt away...

Girl mates are different... when you're trying to get some play, its all about games.
Better yet, try and get a girl to buy YOU a drink.

(that makes me come across as extremely arrogant... which i'm not.)

jazz, i don't think you should generalise about what women do or don't expect.... we're all different. i NEVER only take £10 out with me and expect guys to buy me drinks all night. that's wack and inviting more unwanted conversations than i care to think about.

some women are more independent than others i guess. for me, if a guy offers to buy me a drink, i can pretty much guarantee that i know him, and 90% of the time it's not an entry-point to a chat-up - just a mate buying a mate a drink.
i'm takin this show on the road.

I hate being single - but I am well past the age of trying.

...and what I mean is trying to make things work..If it's not working, I am not going to be sweating it.

Another thing I hate - is not having a large pool of friends like I had when I was younger..and I don't mean fuck buddies..I mean people I could run up on in a club and have an enjoyable night and look after them and have them look after me..a crew..at my age it's almost ridiculous to roll with a crew..

at age 24 you change alot, at age 27 you change alot, at age 32 you change alot...working with someone on the long run is really difficult..

At some point you do have to decide what you are doing with it..if you have no intentions you ought let it go.

At age 22 you are probably just trying them on.

oh this this this...

i miss that a lot...

most of my friends i used to have are wives/husband/parents now. or they're just on a totally different path. or have moved away. i miss just going to dinner just because there was a new restaurant...or going with a group of friends to the movies. now there have to be babysitters or scheduling and ugh...

of all the things i prolly miss from my 20's, the number of hang out buddies i had is probably on top of that short list.

yeah, as much as i might like having no commitments, it would be nice to feel comfortable enough to make a commitment to and not doubt it every day, you know, find a compatible person.

Ness - It was a crass generalisation I admit. I only go by what I see and the people I know. That's how a lot of girls (that I know) at Uni work when they go clubbing.

Like you said, you're Independant - so the chances are you're working and have moved beyond Uni and being a "broke ass student."

Again, I don't mind getting rounds in for mates... But previous bad experience with the fairer sex dictates that the kinds of girls that purposefully WANT you to buy them drinks... how can I put it... wouldnt mind shagging on the first date, which is all well and good when you're 18 - but i'm a little bit older and i'm looking for a more mature lady (at least mentally)...

I can tell you what I plan on doing for the next year and a half...I am finishing college starting Jan 5. at this place..

http://www.scad.edu/

I will not be working and trying to do school at the same time..but I would like to get the music straight on my personal time..and possibly sponsor a few nights in town..That would make me happy..

Metals by day - Music by night....

Beyond that is an enigma...I have to make something work.. :(

I think I am damaged by the concept of money right now..
