That's real Electro.
I had a vinyl copy of an Arabian Prince solo album from I think the late 80s which was a bit shoddily produced but had some rediculous low end on it. I lost it while moving though.
This stuff is exactly what I think of when I say electro.

i think stones throw or somebody is rereleasing a load of arabian prince stuff, so you might want to check some of that out. i tend to listen to more of the newer stuff, although a lot of it is complete shit. good tracks out at the moment are the ac slater remix of mathhead's 'turn the music up' and 'rooted' by hostage. you can get the first one on beatport and the second on the curbcrawler blog. to be honest the best way to find stuff is just find a blog that posts stuff you like and follow it, there's one for pretty much anything nowadays. i like FVCV, curbcrawlers and missingtoof. although those are all centred mainly around more fidget/ed banger style stuff.

does anyone concider anything on databass to be electro?
i know twilight 76 is the sublabel for electro stuff but some stuff by the likes of mr de, bitch ass darius, starski & clutch, aj mcghee, erik travis, .. sound electro-ish to me and i usually like their stuff aswell.
obviously it sounds different to aux 88 but if you check the twilight forum you'll find sets with the electro artists mentioned by now in
