i dont think i can ever finish a song or ever have. i make songs, like them. play music, then play my song and dont like it. my problem is i compare my songs to people like prodigy, jean michael jhar and faithless.

I've got about 40 tunes which are all decent but about a minute long

The only tracks I've ever finished have been ones where I did the first 70% and a mate finishes off the rest.

Yeah you are nuts dood (in a good way)

I have a problem with not liking anything I do. I have still managed to finish quite a few but it usually comes in spurts. The most efficient I have been is 2 started and finished in a week but then you may not hear from me again for months. I really don't get the necessary time to do this proper tbh. Don't have kids if you want to be a rockstar.

i always feel that there is something that can be changed to one of my tunes when i listen back to them. this means i can never say one of my tunes is finished. usually though ill make my main 64, and a changeup, give it a few days, if im still feeling it and other people are ill finish it.

I'm really crap, I find coming up with ideas a lot more fun and interesting than patiently arranging and mixing them.

Although I've just finished something for the first time in aaaaages. It's in the dubs forum, here

(Do you like how I got the subtle plug in there?)

No producer of any real lasting quality would ever admit to having truly "finished" a tune...

quality producers know when it's time to move on to the next tune though.

I probably finish about one in ten i start probably less than that really.

Ive got into a really bad habit of starting new tracks up all the time or hear i sample that i really like and will start a new tune.

I havent finished a tune in ages.

I've completed about 20 out of 24 tracks in the last two months. In the past I had worse results, but then again I just got a lot of new gear that is making things a lot easier.

LOL for real. That is all subjective though innit. Most of the tunes I finish these days tends to mean something to someone though. Not to say it's the next request line or anything but someone other than me and my wife digs it. To put a number on it, who the fuck knows. I been making music in one form or another since the late 80's. I'd still say I haven't completed more than 50 or 60. I have started around 300,000 tunes tho

depends how you define 'finished' really. ive probably laid out 50-100 tunes, but perhaps only have about 3 that are at the level of sound quality ive got so far, making everything else ive done sound unlistenable in comparison...

so maybe about 10 that ill still nod my head to, but just a few that ill get up and dance to with a big grin on my face!
