Chicago girl in a London world...for a sec

Post by dali » Fri Sep 12, 2008 1:23 pm

Hey...
I have met me a lot of great Dubstep DJs and fans from around the planet due to my involvement in BassGoessBoom Dubstep shows in Chicago...

My best friend moved to London earlier this year and I have planned a trip to visit her in November (12-19)

While I can certainly search the forum and find events as they come I thought I'd put this out there to see if there is anything from the rumor-mill for those dates or any shows, events, stores or clubs to not be missed from a dubstep perspective or other.

Obviously gonna check out FWD and prolly make an appearance at Fabric at some point... Also gonna do the obligatory tourist shit during the day. Also planning to check out Bath, Stone Henge and maybe ride out to Bristol...

So yeah... I'd down for some recommendations for whatever you got...

Also... would be down for some recs on where to peep some graffiti... P-walls or other... again I know I can find this by wandering around a bit but I like to go in with a game plan if possible.

Gutted we're gonna miss DMZ but there's nothin we can do about it now.

Super excited to go to FWD>> though.

Like dali said, pretty much any suggestions of what to see or do in London during our short stay would be much appreciated.

Borough Market is supposed to be a good place to go. I go there at lunch but don't understand all the hype. Maybe in a few years I will.

Apparently the place that sells coffee there is really good and high quality beans.

neal's yard in covent garden is something to see. if not only for the twist (barry mcgee) graff piece on the wall of slam city skates. it's one of a kind. there's a few really good organic cafe's there too.
then check out neal street at this store called "offspring" for sneakers. a few hours in covent garden is worth your time. whatever you do do not forget to check out some of london's parks. they are incredible. have fun.

LDN's nature for the win, everytime. I'm still kicking myself for not exploring more...

bro, i've been to london over 10 times now, and i've just scratched the surface. the museums alone is like two weeks of your time, going to one everyday.

speaking of museums, don't miss the tate. its superb.

National History is obviously the dogs bollocks. Seeing the huge skeletons and knowing they are millions of years old is just amazing.

make sure you go 2 cafe1001, I reccomend it in there, I like it!

indigo in the o2, although a bit poser its a nice club...very secure...

check out tinseltown in limehouse for some nightime desserts..

drinking anywhere around algate, shoreditch, liverpool st, leicester square is normally a good laugh...

the house & terrace is a pretty nice place, again quite poser-ish

check out the rainforest cafe for a nice meal, i really like it in there..

I know some other places still, just tryna think

check out greenwich in south east if you can! lovely park and loads of nice little shops and cafes etc. in the town, the maritime museum is pretty interesting as well. used to hang out there quite a lot and going back yesterday for the first time in a while reminded me how nice it is, i recommend heading over if you can.

hope you have a fun trip!
