i'm leaving this thread. call me when some real scientific basis is formed that's source isn't questionable and full of flawed logic.

i just quoted that to counter seckle's reference to carl sagan. carl sagan uses the arguments i listed as reasons why you should not believe in UFOs.

I guess I have to repost it although I am nervous about being considered a kook..

I had to go to the psychiatrist once because I was sitting in a bookstore reading..and an employee, who was talking on the phone, started saying what I was reading..

ah ok, sorry didn't see your original post and didn't mean to pry into your life, thought you might have referring to something in colliers spiel. Surprising to hear that that experience is a result of social anxiety still.

what she was getting at is that often times social anxiety could be related to latent psychic ability that is being misunderstood

yeah more along the lines of what i thought was being implied, can you elaborate? are you saying that social anxieties are/can be the result of a reception of something external rather than an internal conversation?

yep.

depends on what state of mind you're in. most people can tune it out. some people have a harder time.

when you become aware of it though, you can have more power over it.

like sometimes i go to a club and all i want to do is dance, but i can't get the room out of my head and just focus on the music and let go. i think this is what happens when other people are having the same problem. everybody is interested in everybody else in the room and not letting go.

when a party is *really* good, nobody is overly concerned with each other, and more stoked on the fact that they are all focused on the music/dj. it becomes easier to engage in the flow.

that's when there's a good vibe. that's when the magic of a good dance party happens.

Ever see the movie Angel Dust by Sogo Iishi? ...

The part where the female detective really starts to crack is when the suspect calls her on the phone and she goes to wipe the sweat from her hands and he says "That's right, wipe the persperation from your hands.." - and she starts looking around for him and all these other people are staring at her...like zombies..like witches familiars..
