Dusk and Blackdown - Margins Music

Post by watoo » Sun Aug 17, 2008 3:41 pm

Just give this beauty a listen and have to give it my highest recommendation. Think Badmarsh and Shri do dubstep with a hint of Layo and Bushwacka's sense of drama. Cinematic yet intimate with awesome depth in the production throughout and a timeless feel to it I really didn't think they produced albums like this anymore, can't wait til I get the vinyl so I can start playing with this shiz.

Bo!

i agree mate, beautiful peice of music. "concrete streets" and the track with farrah are standout tunes, but it's listing to the album the whole way through where you get the most out of it. paints a wonderful picture of the sonic landscape of london

thought there wasn't gonna be a vinyl version. I think blackdown said something about a couple more 12"s though.

top album either way.

Good to hear an LP giving a broader view of the UK scene. Big up Dusk & Blackdown, putting in work from day one.
This is neither time or the place.

Been said...
Just a word for that Dusk+Blackdown tune titled Focus, a clearly approach to the Detroit techno crossed-over with that 2-step syncopation, sounds like how it would sound a classic such as Knights Of The Jaguar nowadays, very very good! Congrats for making it possible.
Seriously, this tune is an instant classic.
Suddenly, there was a terrible roar all around us, and the sky was full with what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, and a voice was screaming:
Holy Jesus. What are these goddamn animals?
