From London, UK, staying with relatives just outside Toronto, not sure if I can make it now coz can't seem to find accomodation in the city because of Carabana!

yeah we had the same problem, our hotel is in yorkdale. which is no where near downtown.

All the hotels seem to be $209 a night.... fucking crazy this weekend.

Why not stay at the Waverly Hotel? Its close to the jam.

I found a little bed and breakfast right around the corner from the jam... its at Colllege/Beverly... im here right now. Big rooms at a reasonable price.

Honestly, it was up there with Houston and San Fran, March DMZ -- and really, any gig i've had the opportunity to play. Just an amazing level of energy in the room and the place. Nice crowd, nice sound system...Toronto came with it...and because they came with it, i had to come with it. You name it....it got played.

DMZ vs MZN = wheel...everytime.
Caspa - Dubwarz = rewind
Scuba - If I Don't (dub mix) = LIFTED!
Scuba - If I Don't (rockers mix) = HHB, hard head bop.
Skream - Tapped. RAH!!!!
Hijak - Butcha. send them to the butcha shop......

and some other stuff. I can't even tell you how many tunes got taken from the edge -- and i wasnt the one doing a lot of the pullups.

From the intro tune "Pinball Number Count" to the last tune..."In The Air Tonight"...it was two hours and 20 minutes of joy. A night i wont soon forget.

I got interviewed on Ryerson College radio. I also played a mini-set...aka, "the 20 minute workout". Great times....phone lines were moving. I was happy to be there and more than happy to play.

After the event, i found out that there's a thread on a local messageboard about the event. 12 pages deep. TWELVE PAGES. When people are posting pictures of you(me) to earn free admission -- that's true appreciation. The promoter (Sek) and his "street team" (yes, a street team) really put in the work -- and it showed.

Walking around the city and seeing full-size posters of yourself wrapped around lamp posts, plastered on the side of mailboxes and littering the exteriors of buildings....there's something real cool about that.....
