LOL at pete murking k heads. I've never really noticed it to be honest. Its kind of a given that people will be doing some kind of a drug at a club night. As long as they're not causing problems for the other people there its up to them what they take i reckon.pete bubonic wrote:If you're that offended by K-Heads either give them shit about it (and first hand experience, ramming into and generally being a tnuc to mongs in clubs is a lot of fun).Corpsey wrote:I hope bristol isn't full of deadout drool raves when I get there eventually...
I love ketamine but it's an afterparty drug, surely?
Ketamine is gong to ruin Dubstep

hah well yeah that's completely true. ketamine and DXM (related) have also been used to treat heroin/opiate addiction.Tomity wrote:Is that really true? Its been used medically for decades hasnt it? I saw a program when someone had been involved in a car crash. They gave him morphine but he was still in agony. They then gave him ket and he felt finethe facts about ketamine is severely lacking
what i meant about fact was actually directed at this thread, and the lack of actual fact. it's mostly anecdote and personal opinion, eg. valueless, imo.
Most of em just stand with their eyes closed. Tap em hard on the shoulder and watch the 5 second delayed reaction. I did actually start to seriously consider smacking a monghead in Notts, since he'd spent the night falling about the dancefloor, really pissing people off at times (nothing worse than getting knocked off the beat). Seriously, he would never have known what had happened... Having never done ketamine, I was actually quite curious as to what kind of time he was having, and what his memories of the night would've been like.
Back to the point... drugs are unlikely to ruin dubstep. Attention-grabbing headlines have ruined the media, though.

I don't think anyone would argue against the connotations of weed with dub music, which by definition dubstep is a development of. If you look back 3/4 years at the dubstep tunes comin out then, the music was often a lot more trippy/transcendent or whatever adjective you want to use. If music has these qualities then its almost designed in part to facilitate your state of mind when on a drug such as weed. If this is true then dubstep, as with psychedelic rock in the 60's was built on the foundations of a link between the effects of drugs and music. Thus to say that a drug will actually ruin the music is absurd. The genre might have moved away from the trippy sound it once pocessed and so being less suited to trippy drugs but thats a result of the music changing. Not because people are listning to it whilst taking drugs.
Dubstep is a type of dance music, people go out to dance to it and that usually involves some form of stimulant and you'd be pretty naive to think otherwise. If you want to just go out for the music then go to a club where a Dj plays to people sat around in a circle. Sounds like a great idea actually..

LOL. TBH I got no problem with K, I've tried it myself. Not my thing but anyway. The problem is with people overdoing it, just like drink, weed and anything fucking else. Overdo it and loose control of your faculties and you're going to piss someone off.manray wrote:Most of em just stand with their eyes closed. I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.
i dunno man, my mates love the stuff. So good that the horses want it back. Not my thing tbh, just makes me ask questions about everything. Why is that tree there? How did it get there? Whats its purpose? What is it? What is 'it'? etc
When i go to a dubstep rave, it's a couple of tinnies, 2 or 3 bombs and a shitload of gum

as long as people in the dance aren't fuckin up other people's times (ie, idiot moshing, puking, etc), it's all good. if yr on ket and swaying along to something, fine.
a shit DJ playing shit tunes, though, is pretty much inexcusable.
