that's some good advice there.

1. get good contents insurance.
2. check PC is covered against accidents
3. release several years of pent-up anti-PC rage by destroying your computer
4. press the apple
is it?

NO.

If you really wanna start playing with linux you should check JackLab for openSUSE or Ubuntu Studio
Been there and it's still a bitch to get going. Don't go Linux if you're not feeling adventurous.

amd r shit ..pc's r shit too.

careful of falling into the trap all the gear no idea (chef quote)
131,000 viruses for pc's ..0 for mac
It all comes down to safe practices.

There are currently 0 viruses for my pc. reason: 2 Computers, Primary Creation station is never online, secondary is always online. But if it some how gets infected (3 years and no infections) ill just drop in another harddrive with windows already installed, ready to go. And if you askin, what about the lost data situation, etc on secondary, well, thats easy, its called a LAN, lol. I regularly Xfer all new stuff to a specific drive on primary for downloads only, scan with a virus scanner and u either add to ur collection or delete the files.

Sorry, i have a science when it comes to this stuff. After all, its what i do professionally.
