AMSTERDAM-25-AUG-06 - Dubstep.NL Launch Party MALA DMZ..

Ladies & Gents!

I've noticed that in little over a month we gained more than 80 souls on our dutch forum/community. Together they posted a little over 1500 messages, relevant as well as off topic, but all to share the passion about the music.

To me, that's reason enough to party! That's why we launch the Dubstep.NL Forum Party together with Digital Mystikz' Mala and the OT301 in Amsterdam. I'd also like to thank Gilles 'the one' Dustshop.tk for the designing.

Line up:

Mala (DMZ, UK)
Osiris (Dubstep.NL)
G-selecter (Streamers)
T-mus (Dubstep.NL)
Colin (OT301)

Digital Mystikz

South London’s finest purveyors of meditational bass weight. Pioneers of the dubstep scene, producers, DJs, label owners and promoters, they unleash a dense concentration of dubwise good vibrations.

Longtime friends from south London, Mala and Coki began with a shared love of jungle, dub, roots reggae, garage and house. Together they began forming their own distinct styles of music. Their breakthrough came when their first anthem, “Pathwayz” (Big Apple), got dropped at club Forward>>. Soon distinctive, fresh music like Mala’s “Neverland” or “Anti War Dub”, Coki’s “Stuck” or “Shattered” began raining down on unsuspecting Londoners.

They soon started their own flagship label DMZ with partner Loefah. Now on its eighth release, DMZ has become a figurehead imprint for the dubstep scene. A new 7” series will soon follow. Digital Mystikz also have two 12” forthcoming on London’s respected Soul Jazz imprint including the long awaited appearance of dancefloor classic “Conference.” The duo also featured alongside Loefah on Aphex Twin’s label Rephlex, who licensed a batch of their dubplates for the second of their globally recognised “Grime” compilations.

To fully showcase their sound, they also (again with Loefah) began DMZ the night, held every two months at 3rd Base (St Matthews Church) in Brixton. Now one year old and with friends, fans and family flying in from all over the globe to attend, it’s begun turning people away.

This international affection has been returned, with Digital Mystikz reaching gigs in Holland, Belgium, USA and more. This follows on from wide UK coverage, from DMZ The Night @ Transmission in Leeds, dates at Fabric, WWWHUT@ 93 Ft East, Straight Outta Bethnal @ 333, Rinsesessions at Ministry, Rephlex’s Grime @ The End, Repercussion at The Cross, Warp Record parties, Sub Dub in Leeds, Forward>>, Bristol’s Subloaded and Dubloaded parties. They’ve dropped their productions numerous times live on air, Kiss 100, Rinse FM, BBC Radio 1 including opening the now pivotal Dubstep Warz on Mary Anne Hobbs’ Breezeblock show. Their bass weight meditation is spreading far and wide.

a Dutch national daily newspaper NRC.NEXT says:

www.dubstep.nl is a Dutch internetforum where the ins and outs of the genre are being discussed. Including productiontips, mixes and announcements of parties. The website will be launched on the 25th of august with a party at OT301 in Amsterdam, with Mala from Drigital Mystikz out of London and Dutch DJ's like Osiris and T-mus.

See it by clicking here in adobe reader

cool to hear.
it's not that hard. from central station you can take Tram 1 and exit on the Jan Pieter Heijestraat (Overtoom)
that's a 15 minute ride, and there is one at least every 10 minutes.
and everyone can direct you to the Overtoom (the big street where the venue is placed)

front door should look like this:
