dubplate.net - dodgy mp3 purchase

Post by r33lc4sh » Fri Oct 03, 2008 9:06 am

ez boys and girls,
I've bought some mp3s on dubplate.net. Everything went fine with registering an account and credit card payment. I've got a payment confirmation email. I can see those mp3s in my download section but when I click them nothing happens or sometimes I get a "there has been an error with the file" popup.
I've emailed dubplate.net twice and no reply...
Writing this to warn you people that there might be a problem with their mp3 download purchase system.
I hope that someone from dubplate.net finally reads about this and fix this problem.

you would think that either:

a) they would sort that shit out from all the threads from ppl here bitching about getting the short end from their horribly designed & unmaintained site.

or

b) ppl would just not buy anything from them at all due to all the problems everyone has.

i chose b) a long time ago, because a) is probably never going to happen....

shame though since it's the only place to get tempa on mp3.

Tempa...

Big up for all the good music and all that but this aint rocket science, its really simple guys - email your web person and get them to take the bloody 'buy mp3' links off the site.

Whereas you mailed me the vinyl i ordered promptly which is great, I too have lost money buying a mp3s from dubplate.net and you've also ignored my emails.

Why not get an iThinkmusic store (PM me and i'll even hook it up for you) they are free to set up, easy to run you get 95% of sales. Check Marcus Intalex or many other artists sites... You'll basically smash it.

Right now you're looking like you don't give a shit about any of this and people are feeling like they've been cheated. We're all here, you're reading this so come on here and tell us what's going on?

I've only ever bought 2 releases from dubplate.net and I got them fine. Although the site isn't very ... erm ... nice.

If you're getting no reply from them could you not call your credit card co. and dispute the transaction?

69basslines, that Benga release seemed to be treated differently, was available everywhere, even eMusic!

I've also bought some tunes recently and I'm unable to download.

I've sent an email and I'm now waiting. Wish I'd seen this thread before hand, I spent just over £16 on a back cat of tunes, bah!

damn, thanks for the warning guys..... I almost make a purchase on dubplate.net last week, now I'm glad I didn't.

I had a similar issue earlier this year with sample CD's from www.tradebit.com. There's nothing more frustrating then buying something online, not getting it, and not being able to get a hold of anyone from the company. I made a claim with my credit card........ in the end, it was a big pain the the fukkin ass!

hope you guys get your money\tunes sorted.

They're a joke tbh. I had the same issue a few weeks ago, I even spoke to them o the phone and they still didn't email me them as they said. Apparently if you right-click on the name of the track from the home page when your logged in (under the heading download section) if you choose "save as" you can d/l it. You just have to rename the file as an mp3. On top of this they messed up my two previous vinyl orders. Thy're not getting any more orders from me.

Just tried that, I get this:
<script language="javascript">alert("There has been an error with the file!");</script><head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>

</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
Did it work for you?
