I do understand the lyrics, I can have a laught with the hardcore sexual lyrics, those are the ones that make me move.
But stuff like "Let's be hand to hand and walk on the beach" or "U want to be my friend", cheesy crap poor lyrics. Ivete Sangalo and stuff like that... I'm a lover of bossa nova, well composed music :)

In terms of production, is DIY. I find it poor... not my cup of tea.
As a musical fenomenon, sociallly speaking, is rich very rich.

In Portugal, because we do understand the lyrics will not make it... just near the Brasilian community.

This is just like batucada or samba, if you don't grow up with it, like brasilians or portugueses will always be difficul to have a good taste. Gilles Peterson everytime he plays in Portugal and brings those cheesy batucada tunes, is a nightmare... he's the man of the music but there's some kinds that just locals have the proper taste.

Peace

But you could say like Grime, that would make sense because is a vocal driven music.
