Somebody opens a community meeting place 'for the people' just down the road from you, but ultimately that somebody has the power to decide whether it's open or not... what is it that people can't or don't want to grasp.

Higher powers shouldn't forget that we the community are the only reason this place is as successful as it is. Shouldn't be taken for granted or tested.

I have nothing but the utmost respest for the community and it was out of respect for this community that I even bothered to say anything, as a large proportion of significant contributors were unwittingly involved in negative way with something that didn't remotely involve them and unfortunately could not afford to publicly post their opinions here, either professionally or recreationally. I'm sorry if that has made the situation worse in any way. But all this throwing of stones in glass houses by all members of all opinions is destructive and not really going anywhere.

And now, i've gone and posted in this thread, whoops, and I can see it going the way of the ketamine thread and popping back up just when you'd forgotten it existed

Actually, i have a second request for the mod's - how's about we sticky this thread so whenever anyone feels the need to rant and rail about the state of the community or the decisions of the mods, they come in here and use it as an literal punchbag, leaving everyone else to get on with what they're actually here for - kinda like the sexually frustrated thread in the hideout

Come on guys, let's move on and go forward. Or am I totally mistaken in the belief that we are actually all here because we are rather partial to a little bit of dubstep

If I heard children using those kind of terms I'd be very worried - they might be plotting a secret takeover of our schools and shopping malls. Dr DDD retreating to the moral highground all of a sudden - the waters are still rising tho.. Well done!

originally thought the shutting down etc was a good plan and a wake up call.. but to be honest after reading what Rob said, I totally whole-heartedly agree with what he says

I'm still not pissed as I don't really care bout the whole forum/internet thing but actually music, but yeah I guess would've been pissed loosing all the archive downloaders this site provides // events forum helping out people hearing about nights // etc positive things like that...

But yeah, in short: agree with Robotic 100%.

and also, reading this thread made me realised I don't think it's actually worth my time to read it all... -- doesn't really matter...

The mods keep making the point that this place is not the scene, most people seem to agree with that. It's a forum, it has to have mods otherwise it'll be chaos. This idea that 'The Dubstep Forum Overlords' are trying to run the scene is ridiculous, they run a website in the best way they can. Some people volunteer their time to this needed time to reflect, it's not the Rodney King trial. People are talking like their civil rights are being offended, I'm waiting for someone to quote the European convention on human rights.
