it's not far at all man. the train station is near the club....it's not a walk that you'd want to make, but if you let me know what the deal is....we can sort something out.seckle wrote:finally joe playing at a reasonable hour. no more 5pm business please. i'll look into making this. is it near amtrak?
let me know soon man !

well, it's not that far of a drive. coming from DC. i'm pretty new to dubstep and haven't experienced it in a club yet (although i'm a 10 year drum&bass veteran). haven't heard much about it in DC, but was pretty excited to hear recently that one of the big players/djs in the scene is from baltimore. respect! you making it down to DC any time soon? definitely looking forward to checking out your set this weekend, if i can make it.joenice wrote:RR -- thanks for posting the set times.

cheers for the good words man.tone.def wrote:well, it's not that far of a drive. coming from DC. i'm pretty new to dubstep and haven't experienced it in a club yet (although i'm a 10 year drum&bass veteran). haven't heard much about it in DC, but was pretty excited to hear recently that one of the big players/djs in the scene is from baltimore. respect! you making it down to DC any time soon? definitely looking forward to checking out your set this weekend, if i can make it.
i dont think i'll be in the 202 anytime soon...now that Nation is closed. I did play there in April..and i played the Science Club a couple of weeks afterwards. i absolutely love the Science Club.
if something happens in DC...we'll see. it might be @ Club FIVE.
how appropriate would that be?
Re: Joe Nice @ Drum Ritual this weekend. . .Set times?
yeah man, science club is cool, but a little cramped. used to go there quite a bit when it first opened, then got fed up with drink prices and space limitations. the sound is good though. actually, a dubstep party at club 5 might be pretty good (if not on the main system, then the rooftop might be cool).joenice wrote:cheers for the good words man.tone.def wrote:well, it's not that far of a drive. coming from DC. i'm pretty new to dubstep and haven't experienced it in a club yet (although i'm a 10 year drum&bass veteran). haven't heard much about it in DC, but was pretty excited to hear recently that one of the big players/djs in the scene is from baltimore. respect! you making it down to DC any time soon? definitely looking forward to checking out your set this weekend, if i can make it.

anyway, do you have a mailing list or website w/ your gig schedule? funny, what you said about the genre (regarding the "physicality" of it) in that short BBC documentary really stuck with me and now i'm trying to check it out on a real system instead of my home stereo. lookin' forward to it.
cheers man!

Who remembers the $5 pitchers of Blue Moon? Oh man.....
Fun times indeed.....no doubt about it.
