It should be possible by just configuring the patchmix but I've not been successfull so far... Could only find out how to record from an external source.darkmatterUK wrote:while we are on the subject, before i bought the 0404. i used to record all my audio, movie samples, radio etc in cool edit pro. since i installed the 0404 i havent been able to do any recording what so ever, except of course whilst using automation in reason. am i right to ussume i will be able to do this using the emulator? i would look into this further if i were at home

How do you rate it compared to Kontakt or HighLife?
the 0404 comes with the Proteus, which is equally powerful, but the Emulator X is mega badass
IMHO, it blows kontakt away (and I am an avid fan of NI stuff) but I have never heard of highlife so I can't say
multiple filters, nearly unlimited modulation matrix, clean effects and it's completely dependent on the dsp of the 1212m so there is minimal CPU load
I have only begun to scrape the surface, but I would work through any installation issues you might be having (Daft tnuc: hit me on the PM and I can assist, if you'd like)
I am happy tho, reachin sounds I could never hit before
good times

ya know what...darkmatterUK wrote:yea thats what we thought. id have thought it possible to record using the software supplied with the card, just havent managed it yet. have tried it with live, cubase and cool editDaft tnuc wrote:Could only find out how to record from an external source.
I was also using Audition (cool edit) when i got this card like 3 years ago
then I switched to Audacity because of the same issue

Audacity, thats freeware right? the 0404 came with quite a nice software bundle, cubase lite, not sure which one, ableton live lite 4 or 5, and cakewalk sonar or somethingFSTZ wrote:ya know what...darkmatterUK wrote:yea thats what we thought. id have thought it possible to record using the software supplied with the card, just havent managed it yet. have tried it with live, cubase and cool editDaft tnuc wrote:Could only find out how to record from an external source.

its a bit out there thats for certain. i havent really learned that much about the card and how to use it yet, its 1000 times better than the soundblaster i was rocking before thoughabZ wrote:0404 LOL. I bought that card like 2 or 3 years ago. I had to take it out of my computer. I am just too dumb for it. I can't believe all this time has passed and they haven't tried to update it and make it a little more intuitive. I haven't really looked at any emu gear since tbh.
