Sounds like the best idea to me

separate 'em & put the radio links under one roof. it's all getting a bit messy in the main forum.

Whats the point in sub-dividing forums? Its bullshheeet, the reason the main forum is swamped with radio threads, is because you've already kicked out all the off-topic, music and events threads to other sub-forums. All of those topics are part of the scene so why bother?

Look at DOA - far far far more users than here, how many sub-forums has that place got? Not that many..., despite the shit chatting it works very well.

I would say only two forums - production and a main forum. Anyone spamming too much could always be warned. Yeah you'll have events spam and radio spam, but because of all the geniune discussion it won't saturate the place.

The reason for subforum is to split and make it tidy. It's logical. Radio shows belong into the music subforum.

well why not go the whole hog? Why not subdivide the music forum into individual sub-sub genres? S'cuse me I'm going to go post in the North Dakota Sheep-Love Breakstep Forum, that place is happening...

Why does it need to be tidy???? :roll:

Don't be silly ;) It has to be tidy that everyone can get the informations fast and easy. Right now, the main forum is a complete mess in my opinion. I'm not saying we should split everything in thousands of subforums, but just that radioshows and mixes should belong into the music subforum. Isn't that logical for you as well?

I'm not sure either

The point of radio shows and what we as the DJ's do after is push the show. Hiding it in a Radio section aint great for the ppl doing the shows cos only ppl who know about where to find the shows will download them! And what about the ppl who just bookmark the Dubstep forum, they totally miss out.

I'd feel like is it worth it if no one can be told about it.

We have a music section which does the job imo. I dont see what else the music section can be for if its not for radio sets? New Tracks seem to move between Music and Production so that leaves music for??? Radio slots!

What about making a sticky radio show thread as mention before? Would be a good compromiss between the subforum and the main forum.

I think we all agree that the actual situation is getting a bit shite about all the radio shows taking over the main forum. I'm not against radio shows though :)

I agree with you re on the Dubstep section (My post removed)

BUT

B4 a show starts I'm always gonna post a threat on the Dubstep section.

I can understand the after bit, an archived show should be in the music section. But we are trying to drum up listeners for our shows, lets not stick the ppl who are trying to push the up & comings into some back room. Its very important to us a DJ's grafting on internet shows to get maximum exposure through many means the Dubstep section included.

Dubstep = Info on anything Dudstep
Music = Dubstep Music
Production = Production

Yes i get your point about pushing the sound. No offense, i'm a DJ as well and i fully undertand you. But honestly i don't think that it makes a big difference to new or regular audience if they have to look into the music section or the dubstep section. BUT, it would be a great improve of reading quality in the dubstep section.

What does the almighty moderator think of? :)

Nah you miss my point

b4 a show you HAVE to put it in the Dubstep section. I've had loadsa ppl come to the chatroom saying they saw the post in the Dubstep forum! Remember that was someone who could be arsed to even come into the chatroom so imagine how many could just hit listen n not let it be known that they saw the forum post.

I feel bad cos I have 2 shows a week but at the end of the day I have a job to do, push music and I dont think its very fair if we cant post a show thats coming up.

Again I understand the archive bit but we need to advertise our shows in the place where everyone comes for info about Dubstep...

i can see the people have spoken but here's my offering. i think there's already too many sub sections, back in the day when there wern't as many night the music was built on people hearing radio sets. they have always been one of the focus' of this forum and it's predecessors. i'm sure it will be for the best but for me the most exciting threads to find on this forum are classic radio sets and audio.

I'm all about the calendar idea. The only problem with radio going in the shows section is that most shows can be heard online. So, if you put it in the "particular area in the world" shows section, a lot of people who could listen won't see it.

so because you must have maximum attention on when your shows are on, we're supposed to just ignore a clear majority for a new forum? i see your point but please think objectively about this.

I've been on DOA for years. Yes, they have a smoothly running forum. Yes, they have a ridiculous amount of drama, sparks, negativity and general crap as well. DOA is DOA. This forum is different. We don't want thousands of users that post about Bra Sizes and random internet crap. Music is the focus here, and has been from day one. Radio is important but please keep things in perspective.

And thank fuck for that. I'm so conditioned to sifting through noise to find a signal on DOA, this forum is a breath of fresh air comparatively. Even the off topic area - no holds barred in theory - is pretty friendly.

Hold up bro, I aint talking about me. I'm repping the 10-15 DJ's that graft hard every week doing internet shows that can ONLY run through pushing the set on forums. I can see everyones point dont get twisted, I know it can get a bit much with all the slots everyday going up in the Dubstep forum.

BUT

Why has none of the Rinse sets been moved? Do we really think that only the rinse FM DJ's are pushing the sound, are they gonna sustain this Dubstep growth? Do they NEED to post an advert, everyone knows when they play yet none of their sets have been moved, just all the up and coming DJ's get moved. Is this fair? I have done so much work on my shows, I do 4hrs a week just dj'in, include uploading, tracklisting and so on means I put in about 6hrs a week just to get my shows to you the dubstep forum head. Thats not including the hours spent hunting down new artist and beats. Whaits the point if we are treated like 2nd best here and pushed into a sub section where no one will see us? I mean what does the dubstep section actually there for now? We have sub sections for events, production and now audio so what is to be posted in that section?

Dubstep = Discussion (but whats left to chat about? Sets, mixes and tunes are in 1 section,Production is ion another and events are in another so I cant see what is left to chat about in the main forum)
Audio = Radio sets / Mixes / Tunes / Downloads / Stream
Production = Production and DJ tips
Events = Events
Offtopic = For off toppic diss

I dont know the in's and out's just yet so I'm only acting on what I assume has been decided but does this mean we cannot put a post up b4 the show either? Thats the ONLY means of letting ppl know about our sets and its been take away.....

So Mods, if we see this sub section having an affect on the hits we get on our shows can we rethink this sub section idea? I'm happy to try it, if it works I'll take back everything I've said. But if this ends up have such an affect on our listeners hitting our show what will happen? Cos if you cut the legs off our shows then your cutting back this Dubstep growth which has been so big of late.

And I for one dont wanna got backwards now we are moving so far fwd...

Bro it aint just important its how a scene starts and grows. Radio is the birth place of most modern music! I think it may be you that needs to put things into perspective as you seem to think that general chit chat is whats building this scene...

I aint attacking you bro, we know each other, met each other but I cant believe you being such a Dubstep soldier cant see how important this is for all the Dark FM DJ's, all the Sub FM DJ's, all the Breaks DJ's and every other internet DJ!

I hope you can see my point

Two things to reiterate:
Favourtism - whos allowed to post radio and who isn't?
Main Forum - whats it supposed to be for if not music, events, production, offtopic or radio?
