That sounds like something I want to do eventually.
Most likely NOT in my town, which sucks, but definitely somewhere. I was thinking like a hip-hop versus dubstep thing.

But shit, I'm not a promoter. Or a competent DJ. Damn.
I should start practicing.

Yeh, what im doing is with the labels im talking with im making sure they have like atleast one person under the label thats a like turntablist scratcher.
It would be good to open it up to other genres, but we're already branded as being a wholey dnb an dubstep night basically so i dont really think that would :?

Im hoping we can compare the genres in the battle :D

classic vs would be 1 record at a time each- 2 dj's trying to out-do each other in the mixing and selection....probably not ideal if going to have 2 seperate music styles.
Yeh with two music styles do you still reckon we could pull of 2 dj's doing one or two records at a time?

I guess i could do something like get 2 dnb labels, 2 dubstep labels, make the 2 dnb labels do a 1-2 record mix off, then same with the 2 dubstep, then have the winners from each, have like a 20 minute side battle, then the winner gets to play a rinse out hour set or something

I think 1-2 record mix is too short. What is a 1 record mix?

I mean just spin one record then start either scratching it/over it or something like that

Im just thinking if you make it long sets, people are just gona get annoyed everytime you stop, hype it all up, switch dj bla bla cause they'll be getting more into just raving by then.
But if you do it like short, sick, and interesting, it would be alot better?

I think the one tune each and a big fat line down the middle of the dance floor seperating the sides would be alot better.

I think realistically that wont work, if the dance floors packed, and say everyone tries to go the left, thats not really gona work.. peeps will probs get crushed or forced to be on a side they dont wanna be on
Also it may seem a bit kinda primary school musical chairs kinda thing

:o
