Very true - I play and write both, get bored sticking 2 one style its all about variety! BTW anyone after some deep epic and wobbly filth check out my next single "Trooper" (DUBTING010) out next Monday (preview on my page) - the Bar9 Rmx on the flip is pure evil!jred wrote:

So is it all about the wobble?
Listen to eg Ruffage Sessions on SubFM or Dusk & Blackdown on Rinse, for starters.
Thanks for mentioning Ruffage Sessions: Ben Ufo is my new hero; but the stuff he plays is hardly classifiable as dubstep, if we wanna play the classification game at all, since, well, we're on *dubstep*forum not on *music*forum.
That said, i think i'm definitely gonna go see Benga/Skream here in Prague end of the month:

Well, it's stuff that i've been listening to for years under other, albeit generic, names. Some people at www.idmforums.com would call it IDM.
I'm not a biologist and i'm not good at telling one kind of snake from another but i can tell cattle from fish. The stuff Ben plays doesn't smell fishy, nor it moooes like a wobble ;-)
Jokes aside, some of his stuff shares more with ambient/deep techno than anything else.

top work!
it´s just a joke when every time you log on this place theres a thousand hype threads for tunes and a bleeding heart section for anti wobble fans
Re: So is it all about the wobble?
It is dubstep. If you think it's not dubstep, you have an overly narrow idea of what dubstep is. The stuff he plays has a range of influences, including 2-step, techno, house, ambient, electronica, jazz and so on, but it's very definitely a part of dubstep. I don't want to go into a three page rant about the sociological / historical reasons for this, believe me. Or just listen to the music / go to the clubs and don't worry about what name they use!lbolognini wrote:Well, it's stuff that i've been listening to for years under other, albeit generic, names. i mixed, yes mixed a burial tune last night (true love vip) out of a zomby tune!!Rob Sparx wrote:I'm not saying you can't play a Burial tune out - Skream finished with Archangel last time I was @ FWD which sounded spot on. But I'm saying most of the tunes he's written (1st 2 albums) arent meant for playing in the peak of a set
twas at a night called "Wednesday Night Wobble." oh the irony.

GURLS LUV WUBBEWLE!
Physiological reasons I suspect. Zomby's "Aquafresh" and an OhMiBod.
Wouldn't see them for weeks.

Lol, you cheeky bugger! Our aim is to write music that we like and we are proud of. We also think the tune should be interesting enough to listen to at home (ie. not the same 4 bar loop repeated for 6 minutes) and should also be able to fill a dancefloor.Rob Sparx wrote:Tell that to Nero (hehehehe - only joking Dan!)-boring wrote:pretty much just find what you like, and if you are a producer, dont make rubbish poser tunes
