exs24 with some decent samples is probably your best option.

I know a few electro producers that actually like to use the es2 for bass over much more expensive gear.

Autofilter any bass and up the distortion.

http://www.macprovideo.com/browse/logic (or read the manual)

Learn Logic like the back of your hand and the rest will fall into place mate.

Powerful beast.

Searching is long. Chill

Press a to bring up the automation window. Click the box with volume written in it. It should give you a list of things to automate. Your effect should be there and also a list of all controls of the effect. Find the dry/wet control and it should let you draw automation for it. The distortion fx in logic don't seem to have that choice but camel crusher has a dist on off switch that can be automated (and it's free).
Another way is to assign a midi controller to the control of the effect you want to automate ( by midi learn). That way you can set the automation to Latch and move the controller to write in your automation (it's below the box with volume written in it)
Hope this makes sense it's easier to show someone than writing it
Also remember to turn latch off and put it into read mode so you don't feck it up after.

Just about to say MAKE SURE YOU TURN IT OFF ahaha or you will be kicking yourself later when you are pressing undo about a thousand times, Im neew to logic as well but just keep at it, the manuals are a great help as well, might take a while to search through the 1000 pls pages but its well written and easy to understand!

id say you got everything you need in logic , maybe get some nice kicks and snares from somewhere , i use the vengance sample pack as all the sounds are very clean and ready to use. The es2 has everything you need to make some banging tracks

good luck
