In this age of technology, there is no reason why live sets shouldnt be gettin recorded.
I do understand that it takes some effort to lug a labtop to an event, get to the event early enough to get a soundcheck and stay sober enough to watch ur computer the entire time. Is that too hard todo?
Granted u need to get authorization first which might require a few phone calls or emails which might take at most an hour. I am also aware that if the DJ is signed to a label and has some super elitist contract, u would need to be incontact with their agent before anything gets recorded.
I just remember all of the ol skool jungle mixes that came out way back when that were recorded live and i asked myself, why isnt this being done more now? Why doesnt someone have enough love for the music that they would do anything (legally) to have it documented for the history books?
i guess its all about trust doh and the crazy audio thiefs who would pillage a mix just to grab a few dubs. BAHHHH!!!
If someone records a mix, puts it out for the world to hear and some idiot starts rippin tracks off of it so that they can play it out live, they should be delt with like anyother soundbwoy would be delt with.
just my thoughts on the subject.
