After two great Belgian editions of Echoes, we're going a bit bigger this time. In cooperation with jh zenith we present you two rooms with the best beats in town!

ROOM 1: dubstep -grime - jungle - rave
N-type (dub police-tempa-rinse fm-UK)
Rinse FM DJ N-Type has been a firm favourite on the dubstep scene for some years, with his across the board selection and high impact style. Taking a fairly typical route to dubstep via drum & bass, onto garage and eventually into the nascent dubstep scene, N-Type made his name on Delight FM before moving on to the home of the sound, Rinse. As his reputation grew, so did his number of bookings and before long he was playing at clubs around the world. After developing his production skills, he had his first release in 2005, ‘Square Off’ on Southside Dubstars, and has gone on to have releases on Dubpolice, 3.5 Records and Tempa amongst others. His own label Terrain Records launched soon after, and has had top releases from S.N.O. and Omen. In 2007, N-Type was invited to mix the fifth installment in the definitive compilation series Dubstep Allstars, which garnered massive critical acclaim and helped him win a clutch of tropies at the Dubstep Forum awards.

Grimelock (stainage)
Starting out in 1998 as a drum and bass collective, Grimelock has already come a long way in music. In 2004 they discovered Plasticman at Nuit Blanche which inspired them so much they decided to try their hand at playing Grime, Dubstep and dark Garage.
Their material is based on a blending of dark sub-bass influenced music with hefty grime beats. The dark sounds that drew them to drum and bass a decade ago still give their work an edge.Tracks like The City, Brussels Target, Night Ridder, Ghost Town and Little Soldier are complemented by more uptempo tunes like like Pepper Jack, Test Your Mind and Kawal. All of this makes for a varied and compelling set.
2007 promised to be a big year for Grimelock, and it certainly delivered. The release of B Dubs, which is a mix made up exclusively of their own tracks, as well as the addition of MC's Dynamic and Maelan to their crew made for a busy and productive year. Grimelock will be keeping up the pace during the next year too with more projects already on the drawing board, so stay tuned.
