rich people have a good life in the us.. the highest income tax rate is something like 35%.. in some european countries it's 50% or more .. in austria you get taxed by that rate if you make 50.000€ or more a year..

If voting changed anything it would be illegal...

Tonight
some of the above opinions
feel like: Fuck everyone else, I'm OK Jack.
(I've gotta job, got drugs, got housing...)
Even if it's a head-in-the-sand fear reaction
it's inexcusably cowardly and irresponsible,
typifying the fucking greedy selfishness
that lead to this situation,
wherein the poorest will suffer the most.

Here's hoping yr just using this forum to temporarily escape the inevitable stress of dealing with reality including the needs of others. If yu can't make a choice in yr own self-interest, try voting on the basis of who represents the interests of those least fortunate. After all you won't be shot if your wrong. :D:

Believe me no one is going to solve anything by taking to the streets if McCain wins this election through fraud..

its called Martial Law - congress was threatened with it when they had to decide on the Bailout vote.

the US military has been steadily equiping itself to deal with unrest here in the states - going so far as actually carrying out practice exercises in Seattle streets.. (elsewhere too?)

and they have this fucking crowd control vehicle that emits microwaves. fuck. that. I'll move to the mountains before I take to the streets - thats exactly what they're expecting.. then it gives THEM even further legitimization to keep a tight rope on the people, because after all, "they're running wild in the streets" .. Government control is not needed if you can control yourself.

Werd. Like I said before, the US has to cut the military spending down and put that money somewhere else....There is so much shit going on I am just watching and waiting for shit to happen. What can we do? Not a whole lot now, just ride it out I guess.

And these fuck all bankers need to fucking die...

dude ok. this is retarded. i cant think its even close to fair or right in any way to say one is better than the other. or the lesser of two evils, so you just vote for them....

wtf. just DONT vote. fuck it. i think it should be like...dont vote ....neither seem fit to be president, so i vote neither....or anyone thats running. go on strike!

ps. military forces and that martial law. yeah ppl were getting nervous saying it was already going into play. well....it didnt happen bc the bailout happened. but it didnt even fuckin help.

as far as taxes. i make SHIT. and every 2 weeks when i get paid, i get over 250 bucks taken out of my check. in taxes only. i dont even have medical anything. no 401k nothing. if i had any of that, id be getting paid only like 10% of my stupid check.

fuck taxes, fuck elections, fuck horrible running candidates for president, fuck this country and fuck using military forces to handle taking control of the country. fuck it...

i just hope after the election things start to improve.heard rumors that by june 09 things should bottom out fully and just start getting better. i guess it is about riding it out. ive continued to live the way i have...im not cutting back or anything. just keeping my ears and eyes peeled so i dont walk into anything stupid or lose my job out of nowhere, etc.

but honestly. this worlds gone mad. i want some kind of normalcy again. this sucks. im 23, going on 24 and im trying to buy a house, just bought a car...tryin to set up a life to get married and have babies and all that. get a nice steady income with a bangin career. i cant even afford school, no way we can sell our house in such a shit market. we wont get anything for it right now. although to buy its good...it just sucks realizing its just not time to get mortgages, etc. shit sucks right now. i dont even try to think of the "future" (being 6 months-a few yrs)....i just try to think of like...the winter. the next 3-4 months tops. then ill move on to spring time. then summer and hoping things start to get better. otherwise they say things could take as long as june of 2010 to start looking up. FUCK.

 so much for the "american dream"...my future consists of shit for the next so many yrs till the economy gets back to being OK again...if ever. and then i get to focus on my career maybe in like 2-3 yrs. which means ill be closer to 30 before i get one settled. maybe by then i can move and have kids and a family and feel secure. but then fuck thinking about retirement. none of us will be looking to retire until about 70-80 yrs old. and even then we will all be poor as shit! insane. cant even discuss this anymore.

taking deep breaths helps in any situation.

BUT SERIOUSLY, i don't understand this idea of being politically inactive, when you're blatantly not apathetic. you have a view, so why not exercise your right to vote? if you boil it down, the two parties that the candidates represent DO actually have different policies. to disregard them as 'the lesser of two evils' is silly.

i'll say it again... i would pay money to be able to vote in the us election. it MATTERS.
i'm takin this show on the road.

I think that's true. I'm not in love with either candidate, and the whole ridiculous election screams of theater but that part I can agree with

As an american who lives abroad, it has a better chance of positively afftecting me if Obama is elected.

So I guess I hope he wins.
