London: Breakfast Dub 3: Oct 26

Figured I'd start a thread for this as there weren't many people there.

What can I say, they MASSIVELY beefed up the soundsystem this time! It was sooooooooooooo good, the bass was proper pounding, I'd say it was on par with FWD, Corsica and Mass given the shape of the room and where the speakers were located. Sitting on one of 'em on the wooden stage in front of the DJ booth was something else

Thought I was getting there for 3-ish, found out I'd forgotten the clocks changed, so turned up an hour earlier, bonus! The sets together with the stupendous bass were all AMAZING! It was so nice to hear other DJs apart from the more usual big names play, the sets were different, the tunes were different (including some awesome dubplates), but they were all proper heavy and stomping! Especially enjoyed Underground Ice's set! Out to Majestic for doing a top job hosting too!

So it was a big shame that the turn-out was, well, dismal. Lets just say it felt for most of the day as though I had my own private DJ show. Which has its pluses and minuses. Guess it was a combo of FWD vs Rinse, weather and end-of-month-brokeness.

Other pity was that it ended early at 8pm. Would be (vaguely) nice to know why, hope it wasn't because of the turn-out (or my dancing). More people were just starting to show up too.

Really hope there's more to come as they have something really good going on there! Look forward to the next one!

AHH i tried so hard to reach with a couple friends but i couldn't get there until like 10:00!

My buddy called us at like 10:15 and was like "i'm here, but the doors are all closed and there's no sound" and i was like "WTF anda de bridge, you sure you're at the right place?" so we said fuckit and went to fwd>> and listened to a bunch of shit garage for 2 hours until hijack came on and sorted it out.

:(

and i'm so glad the soundsystem got sorted out for this one... that was a MAJOR complaint of mine at the last one, sounded like balls... i wish there was more daytime dubstep shows! keep on!
