Big Up Skream and Headhunter!!!
For those that missed them, Skream and Headhunter have given away 2 tunes.
Headhunter: http://dubstepheadhunter.blogspot.com/
Skream: http://dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=62522
I would like to take this time to encourage all Dubstep labels, producers, and general public to make this a trend. How many dubplates have come to the surface that won't ever get a release?
This is the solution. After they have moved infinite numbers of asses, the perfect retirement for them is in the general public, where they are of mythic status. I'd never heard this Headhunter tune, but Big Up for that one as well. Loving that shit though.

Couldn't of said it better myself...if you make tunes and aren't gonna put them out ..or really just don't know what to do w/ them after so much time passes..why not atleast share them w/ the world and your fans!
Big ups to Headhunter and Skream!
Free or Not , I could care less..I'd definitely pay full price for this on Vinyl or D/L ...I'm just glad they're being put out!

Imagine if Mala, Skeam, et al just put up digital-tunes.net pages full of their dubs. There'd be an all new revenue stream for those guys, as they have probably 200 dubs a piece that we've been waiting on for years.Encryption wrote:Free or Not , I could care less..I'd definitely pay full price for this on Vinyl or D/L ...I'm just glad they're being put out!

yeah that's true. but then after a few years if the producer stops playing it out maybe it wouldn't affect their sets. like for example the loefah remix of 'in tha place' by rossi b & luca. i'd definitely buy that tune but it's not gonna come out and i'm pretty sure noone's still playing it out. although correct me if someone still isJoe C wrote:thisspiderman wrote:nah as much as i like free tunes and general availability of tunes.....

I agree , but I'm saying after a yr or so of being played and being put to rest ...why not share it w/ the world , and the people that have waited yrs to get their hands on it!spiderman wrote:nah as much as i like free tunes and general availability of tunes.....

What a great way to bring new life to a tune that a producer was gonna retire or do nothing w/ !
I'm definitely not saying to give things away for free or let people have your fresh dubs or exclusives ....
just stuff that was done awhile back and still haven't surfaced!
I had missed the HH one, so nice one for the thread.
Of course, really love free tunes from these big producers and the other recent ones, like Cyrus' birthday freebie. But too many freebies wouldn't be right. The odd one here 'n there is the way to go.
Headhunter just dropped Nomad and the 3x12"s, Skream has Skeamizm vol. 5 just out so a giveaway now is good timing, very smart move. UP.

You know it. It's all about exclusivity, man. This scene was built for ravers, the internet helped it progressed, but that doesn't mean that the internet should act as a new avenue. You can already hear half of the tunes on most internet sets, and you keep yourself updated the more you listen, so why not just put up with the quality until the next release/rave!spiderman wrote:nah as much as i like free tunes and general availability of tunes.....

i think the point is if the DJs have stopped playing it out anyway and it's never getting a release, a free mp3 just means people can enjoy some classic tunes from a few yrs back. but yeh if producers gave out all their tunes that didn't hit wax free after every ep that wouldn't be good.Elementalism wrote:You know it. No offense , but I think people are taking this way out of context,Ammo wrote:i think the point is if the DJs have stopped playing it out anyway and it's never getting a release, a free mp3 just means people can enjoy some classic tunes from a few yrs back. but yeh if producers gave out all their tunes that didn't hit wax free after every ep that wouldn't be good.Elementalism wrote:You know it. Soo I guess , if you hear a good tune ,( that gives you those chills up your arm) , but never gets released...it should just be lost in all the other unreleased dubs that never see the light of day and fade away ,
Just for the sake of being exclusive??
Again...I'm not saying new tunes , but tunes that are being put to rest and not in their rotation anymore...

Thats why! Tune i no longer play that i get asked about a lot. Why let it do nothing if people who appreciate it wanna hear it. I played it out a lot when i made it , but that was a year n a half ago now.Ammo wrote:i think the point is if the DJs have stopped playing it out anyway and it's never getting a release, a free mp3 just means people can enjoy some classic tunes from a few yrs back. but yeh if producers gave out all their tunes that didn't hit wax free after every ep that wouldn't be good.Elementalism wrote:You know it.
