yeh Marcus Nasty was awesome, felt that a very great deal.
Marcus...Nasty...Marcus...Nasty" lol
Dusk & Blackdown were heavy as always, amazing selection, and Ramadizzle was killing it! proper varied, consumate set, sick!
wicked social vibes, lovely catching all those that i did!
Sunday night raving / drinking is not the one for beginning the working week though :/

yeah same powerpill i left after about 20min of skream's set..good night all round tho..dusk+blackdown and rama both interesting, varied and weighty..
and as for marcus nasty hmm parts of his set were absolutely banging - fast percussive and filthy and i finally understood what the fuss was about but
"marcus naaaaarsty...marcus naaaarsty...marcus naaaarsty" looped all the way through? topped off with
"ooooooh marcus nasty's a warrrrior..oooooh one glass of champaaaagne"
i mean, COME ON!

haha the lyrics to african warrior take the trophy i think. its all a bit tongue in cheek though, no? the beats make up for it . some of the stuff he was playing was filth. all about the turbo spin backs too!!!FC wrote:yeah same powerpill i left after about 20min of skream's set..good night all round tho..dusk+blackdown and rama both interesting, varied and weighty..

was good, dusk and blackdown were brilliant.
Marcus Nasty...hmmmm...not too sure, some of the beats were pretty good, but i dont get where this funky name has come from, if thats what that was meant to be, I dont think the name suits it very welll, and consistently listening to ,"Marcus...Nasty...." was too much, all it was missing was "....live in plastic people, November 2nd, 2thooouuussannndd and 8"
had to leave for the last trian home, so gutted i coudlnt catch ramadan.

i don't think it was tongue in cheek in the slightest! - deduced mainly from the massive "NASTY" tatt on his bulging bicep, this man was not taking the pisspowerpill wrote: haha the lyrics to african warrior take the trophy i think. its all a bit tongue in cheek though, no?
not everyone minded the cheesiness though, noticed Kode9 having a sly brockout in the back corner

lol, maybe im just used to all the specials and that from listening to his rinse shows and the like. i was certainly cutting some (probly quite peculiar) shapes throughout his set.FC wrote:i don't think it was tongue in cheek in the slightest! - deduced mainly from the massive "NASTY" tatt on his bulging bicep, this man was not taking the pisspowerpill wrote: haha the lyrics to african warrior take the trophy i think. its all a bit tongue in cheek though, no?

Marcus. Nasty.
It was when he turned side-on to the crowd and looked ultra-pleased with the mix he'd just pulled off (his smile was priceless), just before pulling the rewind... that was the best part for me. 'Marcus Nasty's a warrior'!
Brilliant set. And I was feeling every tune that Dusk & Blackdown played. Even if Blackdown was leaving Dusk with difficult mixes to pull off at times!

Donae'o is a terrible lyricist.
"African warrior/coming with his stick in his hand?" Stick???
"Devil in a blue Dress" is worse.
The first line of the chorus goes:
"She's a devil in a blue Dress"
which he couples with:
"She's a devil in a blue Dress"
Line three comes in with:
"She's a devil in a blue Dress"
which nicely gets topped off, just for good measure, in the fourth line:
"She's a devil in a blue Dress"
Aaargh!

haha, he's a grown man, he can handle it. We play strictly 50:50 b2b so it's the luck of the draw if dusk or i have some tricky mix or a tune that's made to blend in nicely.tercerojista wrote:Brilliant set. out to everyone that reached, was a big night.
