i think there's enough people jaded on jungle just like myself who will find dubstep to be a breath of fresh air. personally i thought it would take alot longer to get the ball rolling but it seems to be picking up nicely 'round these parts, especially with the home-grown talent sprouting up in our own backyards. the high level of enthusiasm, optimism and encouragement is what's fueling this genre and scene. it's actually very exciting to watch it all unfold.

We're getting lots of support from the local DnB community here and from the peeps who always bitch about there never being any garage nights, haha. But yeah over the past couple months it's grown from almost nothing to the point where we've got a monthly and there's about 6 DJs that I know of buying heavy amounts of wax where before it was just me lol. I think another few months and we'll have built it to the point that we can bring some headliners through especially if we do a travel share with other cities on the West Coast.
who and when?

i only of like 2 djs who even buy it.
i have played out a few times, just covering for peeps--emergency stylee.
i could have swore i had the massivest set of dubstep vinyl in seattle...maybe i do :D hee hee

but then again i have never been into any d n b scene so i may be missing something...holler at me on here...or pm me.

i guess i am way out the loop...

there used to be a grimey dubby kinda thing affiliated with zions gate records , but that shut down...

but like i said, i have never been into d n b really till a year ago or so, so i may be missing something.

my friend is going through San Francisco for a few days over the next few weeks and I was qutie suprised at the amount of dubstep shows in just that short space of time...

I've also heard people involved in different music scenes over there talking about dubstep heads so there must be a quite a few...

I think the way foward is definately through US artists...

that gutterbreakz afterimage mix really shocked me with the amount of great, foward thinking dubstep being produced by people out of its homeland (birthplace?)

Please let me know when something happens in Seattle. I was waiting all summer for a dubstep event. I am really looking forward to hearing the tunes on a real sound system.

what you have on your side this time is the web. When jungle blew over here there was no way of communicating the vibe properly to states so pick-up was way slow. just the fact that we're talking here UK to US and discussing ideas relevant to the movement is something that would have been impossible at the birth (golden time) of jungle.

you have to love the way the web has enabled shit like this to become a global scene faster than otherwise possible.

statesiders might find this a little controversial but what i'd really like to hear is you taking it to another level and giving back what you've done. christ's sake you invented dance music but us european's evolved it. you invented rock music but again it got made better by your euopean brethren. i'd absolutely love to hear yous take a UK sound and breathe some new direction into it that'd blow us all away.

this is very cool. :W:

though I will admit the amount of brilliant talent you lot are producing right now at such young ages is rather daunting...

regardless, thanks for the support!!!
