Vote for your fave sleeve artwork of 08

Post by andreamia » Mon Nov 10, 2008 4:37 pm

from Resident Advisor:

http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=9905

"Art Vinyl has just announced the nominees for their Best Art Vinyl 2008 award, which includes artwork for Flying Lotus and Low Motion Disco.

One of the benefits of buying vinyl over digital is the large artwork that adorns the cover of each release. In an age when people are downloading more music than ever, Art Vinyl have decided to start an award that showcases the world's finest record sleeve designers, with quite a few inclusions from the world of electronic music. Sleeves for Alter Ego, Flying Lotus, Low Motion Disco and Björk all feature in the nominations, and the vote to decide a winner is now open to the public."

my personal fave - fly lo's sleeve for LA. still trying to wrap my head around it.
black devil disco club + the bjork sleeves coming in second.

the zombie zombie artwork looks like a bag out the paul frank store.

Not enough full-sleeve art in dubstep, but, Zeke obviously, and the art from the Threnody/Noiz 12" on Rottun, even though it was only on the labels.

Veil - System Drills Vol 1, art by Semiotext, also, obviously.
