Gonna be playing this on on repeat for sure. Wicked selection!

Bit too much clipping, but otherwise great!

Post by muteqx » Thu Nov 20, 2008 5:47 pm

I really like this mix a lot!

The only complaint I have is that the levels get a bit out of control and distorted by the end of the mix. You're getting some pretty major clipping (digital distortion) going on in the last few tracks, and it makes it a little hard to listen to.

If you mixed from vinyl (I get the impression this isn't the case, as I can't hear any of the telltale signs) there's not much you can do about it other than keep a constant eye on the levels.

If it's a computer mix in Ableton or Traktor or something, you should be able to run back through the mix and check the levels to make sure it's not maxing out and going into the red anywhere (basically just turn down the last few tracks). Or just apply a bit of gentle compression and limiting on the master track to keep things under control if you get too carried away and don't notice!

Other than that, it's a wicked mix, and despite the distortion, I'll still be listening to it plenty.

Oh, and as a wise friend of mine once said: "Don't improve in tracks - improve between them."

I'd say the same applies to mixes, so there's no need to rework this one or anything like that.

Looking forward to the next mixes from your direction - feel free to PM me whenever they pop up.

I'll give this one more bump. Got 2 more mixes (1 dubstep, 1 d&b) waiting to be uploaded, but want to get a bit more mileage out of this one if I can.

Thanks for the feedback Muteqz, much respect.
