Rubberdub @ Blueprint In Notts

Post by vinylpusher » Fri Nov 14, 2008 5:24 pm

Decent night set wise for Stenchman, but £13!!!!! Just for Stenchman & Congo Natty......... :o

And the poor excuse for a BBQ???

Not on @ all!

Especially when you can roll Fabric/Scala etc and see the likes of Caspa, Rusko, Chef, Cotti & Cluekid for the same fucking price.

Shitole sort it out lol!!

the sound system was not on point either..
Rubberdub is slowly starting to bore me.
Yeah they pull out some sick names, but the venue is a shithole, the prices seem to be getting steeper every month, and it's slowly turning into an under 18's night... but thats where they make most of the money.
and tbh, I think the main reason for most ppl turning up.. is what you can get away with doing in there. Yeah, It's always funny to watch some underage scene kid roll up the walls with the biggest polo nose u'll ever see, frothing from the mouth with piss and sick dribble all over his 'glow in the dark' attire, walking like he's shat himself (because he probably has) but also due to the fact his skinnys are 7 sizes too small and he wears them round his knees, but seeing a group of mates like it, rolling around in each others sick, it's a bit sad. I do often wonder how half these ppl make it home. *END RANT* But seriously, seems more like a youngster's chemical experimentation centre "that just so happens to play the music I love" than a night club.

Think i'll stick to Detonate, Misst & BassLaced from now on.. plus i'm deffo gonna start venturing out of Notts more, after the Dub Police FabricLive (to say alot of people hate Fabric) it beat any night in Notts.

sick night as always if you ask me, i see why some people cant deal with blueprint as a venue. Its there for an underground music scene, some people just love the plush inner city venues and are shocked to see somethin a bit different. as for the vibes and the id, every1 i spoke 2 was havin a good time and i saw plenty of people gettin turned away havin no id. for me the reason i go is 2 hear good music in a room on a system have a smoke and a drink. cant complain about anythin.

right well let me put this into context for you, the tickets where 12 pounds on the door and the tickets where a tenner before the event, yea this is a lil bit expensive but with a club so small u have to decided wether to bring people big headliners and up the price or keep it around the 6 pound mark and have a few good names.

with a club that can have a max of 350 people u have to rase the price to cover the costs, i think allot of people had a good night and where happy to have the chance to see the congo natty crew plus the dubstep headliners on one night, we wonted to bring people something special its a shame u dident appreciate it.

the price will be back to 6-7 quid when we start back in feb, i would also like to say that we dont like the fact that there are some young people there but everyone is checked for ID on the door, and allot of people are refused because they dont bring ID down with them, we do no it is an issue hence the extra security on the door.

basically we do our best with what we have, the club is a shit hole and i dont like it any more than you.if you can find me a decent club in notts with 3 rooms OTHER then the stealth then please let me know.

unfortunately i'm not a huge fan of jungle, so it wasn't that much of a deal for me to see them.
Not overly hating, been going Rubberdub from the start.. that's probably where my problem lies tbh. I've been going so much it's lost 'buzz' to me.
The last Rubberdub I fully enjoyed was probs the H.E.N.C.H one, I much prefer it when dubs in the main room, but obviously I can't control that.
The state of the club doesn't overly bother me as such, more the people that are starting to turn up. These new persistent underager's who've got there ways of getting in, however that may be, who only really go there to get fucked.. they have no idea about any genre of music bar nu-rave & mainstream, they just want a place to get 'messy'. But then I see a few mates, who are pushing 18 if not already 18 and just generally didn't bring I.D coz it's never been a problem before, getting turfed.. after they've bought a ticket. It did seem to me that the only reason more people got I.D'd this time is because the fact they knew they wouldn't have to refund the tickets if they couldn't provide I.D. whereas if it was just pay on the door, guaranteed MOST of those people would of got in no worries.

What have i started! lol. I'd like to point out that this is the first Rubberdub i've not enjoyed. And totally agree with carly, its not even the venue, thats just an added factor of the problem, its the underagers, i'm 23, and i know people under 17 (fam/younger brothers friends etc) and they were there!!! They did turf out more than usual on the door, but the fact remains there's still kids going in there, as young as 15!!!! it should be ID on entry end off!

As for the cost. Rubberdub is an underground club and should not be charging that much, I appreciate the overhead expenses but *£12 is still to much, then considering its near enough £4 for a can of Redstripe it makes an expensive night, and to be honest it I don't find that it's justified.

Also im not massive on jungle etc so certainly wouldn't of fully appreciated the night as others would have.

I hope this is a one off as Rubberdubs normally a killer night! Great atmosphere, great music.

Just lose the teeny boppers man.

glad you liked hench, were going to bring them, 16bit and stench back for a night in the new year at some point. if you could point out who the underager's to ether me or one of the bounchers that would be a help, as for the tickets not being refunded, if there are under age, go buy a ticket and then get turned away its not really our foult, i would be anoyed if it happend to me but back in my day we had the deceny to get a decent fake id. the thing is nowerdays theres alot of people that do go out just to get fucked, and there seams go b more and more peope who carnt handle themselfs, i think its proberbly down to ket.

just out of interest who would you guys really like to see, ether in the dubstep or jungle room? nice one

indeed there is, but then again.. so are adults.
hmm..
the main reason ppl jump over is coz there tight skintarses..
not coz they can't get in.. s'never usually a problem for most.

Get N-Type.. put dub in main room.. and i'm a happy guy.
fuck get Youngsta aswell and let them do a b2b.
i'd happily pay extortionate prices to see that.

Shame we had to stop doing the sound for the dubstep room...
Even if I do say so myself the system we used to supply for them was sickness incarnate.

As anyone who went to Rubberdub and saw the likes of Tes La Rok and 6Blocc and the few gigs after that we did would no doubt agree.

I am suprised that they are charging so much TBH.
I KNOW that the Rubberdub lads did ALOT of work in sorting Blueprint out (including painting, sanding the floors, blacking out the back room etc), but the place is still the kind of venue that can only really charge £8 maximum for events.

Not that I have been out in well over 2 months as I am skint...

Eeeeeezzz mate, hold up and think what you're talkin' about mate. Blueprint is a great club mate, for a start most of the dubstep artists u look upto proberly played at blueprint in nottingham way before you're rinse fm started blastin em out. Did you know nights like misst stared at blueprint? wigflex?
Its one of the last few clubs playing real genuine music in nottigham, that is'nt tainted by any commercial bullshit, but just there for good music. all rubber-dub needs a dark room, a big rig and dj's thats the night
Think about the artists you've seen 5ft in front of you; tesla rok, stench man, jakes, kommanmuk, 16 bit , afterdark ( x 4 ), smapchop, geiom, earlybird. Rebel Mc, Remarc.

i can't see why were you so focused on lookin at messy scene kids? You should have been inside feeling the great atmosphere. So what about that anyway ive seen that shit in stealth and plenty of other clubs in notts city centre mate so stop talking shit. Instead of sayin malicious bullshit and being neative , you need to give positive critism, focus on the good points and make them stronger eg. What artists would people like to see, themed nights? guest nights? let rubberdub no.

I think your think about it the complete wrong way geez.
go back to town and leave the attitude with ya.

we're entitled to an opinion mate.
and yes I did know that alot of big nights started @ Blueprint..
I wasn't being malicious in any way.. I just dislike the atmosphere there now.
and I was just disapointed with that particular night, so I had a little rant about it. It's also a shame that when it's shite weather and people wanna go for a cigarette/spliff/w.e they're smoking.. they struggle to, and have to huddle up near the door. It'd be nice to see the marquee's making more of an appearance.
as for dj's..
Joker & Gemmy b2b
H.E.N.C.H crew return.
Kulture
Casual P (this guy can mix)
Sukh Knight
RUF (he was willing to come to notts, and I forwarded the info to you guys on Myspace but nothing happened)
Ruckspin
Bar 9
Bam Bam Dealers
Synkro (dunno if he dj's.. but his tunes amaze me)
tooo many to list man.
Gonna head down to the next Rubberdub, and hopefully i'll enjoy it more this time.

Theres nothing malicious in the criticism...... Ive been going blueprint for 9 fucking years "MATE" so dont say im chatting waffle n dont know what im on about. As for nights like wigflex and misst, they moved for a reason and a good one. Ask Lukas yaself (spamchop) the vibe "was" good and now its just turned into a teeny boppers night. If your around 16 17 then fair enough have fun. But im 24 and i cant roll like man. Mates try and pull girls and u gotta check em for ID!! Fuck that. And that night was pitifull!! I dont care what nights have come from there, whos played there. fact is its a dive! and you cant charge 13 notes on the door for a rubble carpark with a shitty camper van and a rooms with vomit lining the floors! Thats malicious criticism!!

If it gets back to how it was........ I.e MONITOR THE FUCKING DOORS!!!! Then its cool. Kids need to go back to school man.

If it stays the same.... then Blueprints gonna lose NUFF clientell.
