I've heard they are relatively ineffective and actually fairly dangerous due to the possibility of getting hot wax on the eardrum.belb wrote:could try one of them ear candle things, weird sensation but they do work. but yeh, doctor + earplugs
Seriously, go to your doctor, they should be able to help, you've probably got a standard infection of your middle ear, but it could be something more serious, i haven't heard of serious frequency loss like that before.
But yeah people need to stop asking for advice on a music forum and go see people in person who know what they are doing.
i got some candles from a chinese medicine place about a year back after having an evil cold that turned into an ear infection and they pulled a ton of cack out, great stuff. this does sound a bit different if it's just low frequencies being affected though, seeing medical type peoples is probably best
I think having to get people to repeat themselves a lot is a result of not wearing earplugs at Valve. This is the only time I have had ringing after a night. Most aren't too loud.
My ears are fuckin 'ard anyway
serious shame u can't hear bass in one ear tho.
Let us know if this gets better in any way/from any treatment.

There was evidence in this room of excessive consumption.

i cant remember the name of this stuff i got at the store....i was playin out once, and all of a sudden, everytime bass hit in my headphones, my ears would hurt super bad...i went to the doc, and he said it was a wax build up....i went to the local store and got a earwax removal. its just a little bottle, and only took a couple drops....try that first....if that doesnt work, then check with your doc.
earplugs should be supplied for FREE at every club show or party that is thrown. period. shows in the noise genre & rock genres have started doing this. When will DnB & Dubstep? When the music is really THAT loud, you are not missing anything by preserving your hearing. I do not wear them as much as i should, but after years of marching bands, playing drums(5th bass!), listening to things like John Cage, fucking with oscillators & circuits, seeing Mastodon live...my hearing is less & less on point. um...What was that again?
i'll post the link if i can find but a friend of mine in a few bands has a pair of high end earplugs that stop excessive sounds, but still allow you to clearly hear all frequencies. They were only like 20 bucks for a reusable pair i believe...
