Tomorrow night!Watch the skies!!!

Post by echo wanderer » Mon Dec 01, 2008 1:53 am

:o

After Dec. 1, like two celestial ships passing in the night, the planets will slowly separate, but there will still be one more eye-catching sight to see. For on that very same evening, those who gaze toward the south-southwest sky for up to about two hours after sunset arise will be treated to a spectacular sight as Venus, Jupiter and the crescent moon cluster closely together. The trio will form a wide isosceles triangle, with Venus at the vertex.

Fug it...cloudy
no transcendent smiley to the southwest
have to wait till 2030s now.
:x

btw, Jupiter conjunct Venus & Moon is very propitious (meaning fortunate).
I need an ephemeris to ascertain the exact conjunction but i hope it is tommorrow.
Astrologically
(not that i believe that shit  )
it suggests a rewarding relationship between
a mature, wise, well-travelled or philosophically-inclined man
and a young woman + her mother/her feminine essence/the security of home.
It is an opportunity to resolve the mental & the intuitive,
according to humanistic astrology as conceived by Dane Rudhyer.

Wait did I see those two planets in the sky the other night? Saturday at about oooh 5pm?

I saw two really MASSIVE shiny bits int sky...thought they might be planets but they looked really HUGE - so was convinced of UFO-age...

Moon wasn't about tho, but it was very foggy.

Yeah...you would think people with PhDs in calculus, physics, and astronomy would know better!

Then again, you might be going by the picture, which is in fact,a scalene triangle. For the event it should mold into an isosceles.

its crazy, because you can see the dark part of the crescent moon illuminated brighter than it normally is. when we looked at it through the telescope, we noticed that not only could we see craters and maria (even on the dark part of the moon) but that it looked more spherical than it normally does.

YEAH!

Oh man...

It's really beautiful. They were saying that you can see the entire surface of the moon because of various combined reflections from the sun and Venus(or something to that effect).
