4-5 hours bat life.

get a normal macbook. macbook pros cant run games aswell as normal macs, which im sure isn't why your getting it but ive got loads of games that if you have on macbook pro will crash. HL2, FarCry, Counter Strike, GTA San Andreas etc. Play.com has good deals on MacBooks btw.

Macbook will do everything you need it to do. The Pro's arent that much faster - usually just a quicker hard-drive, better display and better graphics performance.

The audio stuff is the same. So yeah just get a macbook with at least 2GB ram.

i spent 900 on my set up, macbook n logic, looking to get the extra gb of ram its well worth it though! I got a laptop coz i can take it about with me, and maybe record in some interesting locations, but mainly coz i wanted to chill in bed with it as well 8)

You could even buy a monitor like spencertron and then use that whilst at home and still have the added convenience of portability, my macbook seems to function just the same as my mates imac so id go for it man, one of my best purchases!

Woke up at 10am today, got out of bed at 3pm. That wouldn't have been possible without my MacBook  I'm a lazy bastard!

they do heat up, but only to the point where it would make your legs warm, I leave mine on for 3 days at a time and it works without a hitch.

Get a Macbook Pro, everyone who has a normal macbook will be [secretly] eternally jealous of you. Plus MBPs are amazing, mine runs Logic flawlessly.

Personally I wouldn't touch the new Macbook with a bargepole if I wanted to make beats. The new Macbook has no Firewire which, for me, means there's no point buying one.

Buy an old black/white Macbook, give it 4GB RAM and a 320GB 7200rpm drive and you'll be in a much better place. Then uninstall Leopard and install Tiger and you're away

Better still, buy a previous gen Macbook Pro.

if your getting a macbook for production you might wanna think of getting another moniter for it, the screens are stupidly small.
