i spent 900 on my set up, macbook n logic, looking to get the extra gb of ram its well worth it though! I got a laptop coz i can take it about with me, and maybe record in some interesting locations, but mainly coz i wanted to chill in bed with it as well
You could even buy a monitor like spencertron and then use that whilst at home and still have the added convenience of portability, my macbook seems to function just the same as my mates imac so id go for it man, one of my best purchases!

That wouldn't have been possible without my MacBookTEQH wrote:i spent 900 on my set up, macbook n logic, looking to get the extra gb of ram its well worth it though! they do heat up, but only to the point where it would make your legs warm, I leave mine on for 3 days at a time and it works without a hitch.TempahProductions wrote:oh one more qustion do macs get hot quick coz my laptop gets fucking hot on my lap and i have to give it a rest other wise the fucking thing will turn its self off half way through a beat

Personally I wouldn't touch the new Macbook with a bargepole if I wanted to make beats. The new Macbook has no Firewire which, for me, means there's no point buying one.
Buy an old black/white Macbook, give it 4GB RAM and a 320GB 7200rpm drive and you'll be in a much better place. Then uninstall Leopard and install Tiger and you're away
Better still, buy a previous gen Macbook Pro.
