scorchio has some really good synths at the start i like the way everything builds up and merges in
lost and found also has really nice progression i like the bass in this one better than scorchio dw your tunes arent shit i had a feedback problem to thats why i started the thread :D

well i hope i covered everyone if not hit me up!!! i thought i might direct you guys to this track on my virb called Smoke Water Riddim (its on my sig). i already posted it in the dubs section but hey when is a track ever finished? lol
cheers, much appreciated! i like the subtle fx on this. i think its catchy, i like the change ups and you use good synth sounds. it seems to not have any cymbals and i keep anticipating them. perhaps variate the drums just a bit? and add some cymbals! 8)

btw, i added you as a virb friend :D

Apologies for my delay.

In Scorchio I can definitely hear a DnB / Techno influence. I like the sounds, but I seemed to lose interest in it. I think the main synth line works great for a build up but it needs a release of some kind to get into a different synth pattern, deep bass, something.

Lost and Found feels more put together to me. I like the pads and chorus stuff, and the bass is nice from what I can tell on my ear buds at work. The pads & chorus stuff do feel like they sit on top of the track instead of in it, maybe adjust the levels, compress them together, or side chain them to bring them down into the mix with the rest of the elements?

Overall I think you are probably in a better place then me production wise :)
thanks for the feedback! ive also added you as a virb friend.

'computer music' has some great synth work in it. im fond of the bassline and the groove of the whole track. you do a good job of keeping it interesting too.

checkin 'are you high?' now and may i just say that id like to plead the 5th. :) nice cypress hill sample there. i'm not feeling this one quite as much as 'computer music' honestly. it seems more stoic/minimal, but perhaps that's your intention. i would like to see more variation and more elements/tracks brought in personally.

not to hijack the thead, but i wrote a track about weed with a friend of mine that's also on my virb page and available for free download. check it out if you desire. its called 'cannabliss.'

i think you produce some good music, mate. i like the diversity of your tracks.

Its a techo/chippy/dark track.

I allready know certain bits that need working on - but as with everything the more advice you get the better - so has anyone got any thoughts so to where i can go next, or anything that needs changing.

Cheers.

Thanks for the feedback. I think that "are you high" was really the starting point for me beginning to understand sequencing things better, so I agree it needs work big time. I'll go rework it someday. I added you as my friend on Virb. I also just added a new song I wrote today called "squishee"

My wife feels ignored after the last few months. I have spent countless hours each week, staying up late, getting up early, etc just to play around in Logic. I think I'm addicted

ChrisH: is the bass supposed to lack all weight or my speakers just fail to play it, the percussion is basically masking the bassline. If that was intended to be so, big up on originality. Loved Computer music, any chance of me getting a 320 on that? :D

manray: can't really comment, as it's not my style, love the percussion tho and the 8bit-y sounding lead

Legendary: if the "qqee" is, what you had in mind, it's awesome, love the monotonous subbass, I'd do something with the snare tho, sounds kinda sissy  the drum patterns are sexy between the bassy parts...

Zillion: the No Love is beautiful, Lovely and nervous, the acronym ADHD comes to my mind, when listening to it. nothing else to say really..

Dubson, will have to listen some other time, considering myself being under strong stimulants, don't want to listen something as slow paced as this, sorry

don't really have time to listen the others right now, but will provide feedback to everyone.

Meanwhile, I'll post one of mine and my friend's. the transitions aint obviosly done and neither is the 2nd drop.

ok starting out live and direct
computer music - maybe some verb on hats or snare in intro, seems a bit dull/too much free space/plain
bass and main sounds ound a bit preset to me, could be fixed with a bit of fx tweeking (some distortion layering etc)
mix wise shit is sitting decent atm, but from sound atm levels could use some tweeking to utilize avail headroom ok can't listen past 2nd drop tbh repetitive with no hook to keep me interested

ok sleep deprived: same thing with drums in intro and levels seem fucked, but a bit more interesting, same bass sound that needs some work imo, low volume overall, skipping forward...
ok crashes add some interest and second bass sound is at least diff, but needs work like orig, tune seems to be lacking sub low end least as i like to hear
ok can't anymore onto next

squishee - like choice in drum sounds but once again experiment with a bit of layering and fx like reverb, bass has a street of rage soundtrack feel, that good old miami vibe sub but could use some boost, wobble sounds better then other tunes layered over this, those ambient hits add some delay or verb to imo
heh is main sound star trek door sound bitcrushed?
also when you fucking with bass for 2nd drop leave some ats or something running with bassline volume going so low
like post the second drop but i'd add a more intense drumline to go with bassline change

overall i'd say work on your mixing and use of effects/abuse of headroom
definately some good ideas in these tracks, but reminds me of preset abuse and such when i was first starting out years back
nothing personal

Thanks very much for your thoughts - greatly appreciated!

I haven't much messed with effects outside of delays, and a little reverb here & there, and am clueless about mixing. I have been reading about mixing off and on all week. I'll try to implement what you have said.

Again - I appreciate everyone's input.

I need some advice, this clip is from a track i'm working on, and I like the bass (from what I can hear on my laptop speakers) I would like to know if you guys think it's too harsh. Thanks.

http://www.wikiupload.com/download_page.php?id=80453 (download link on right side)

PS. It's in a very early stage so there's no variation in speed, pitch ..etc, its just massive and and a bunch of chords + some FX atm. And it's the reason its so high is because I assigned LFO to high pass not low. Eventually I will layer it up with a sub repeating the same chords.

Feeling it but I feel you could do more with the drums or have more 1/2 bar or bar pauses. Nice sound though its got a nice feel where you could take it 2 ways... Really hype or slightly more moody and dark, you could also bring the bass down a bit / get more middy punch in the kick , it feels a bit lost at the moment around the mid area I think it'll be one of those tunes what will suit a nice punchy kick, either way - finish it!

my turn :D

i like the tune, there's a nice balance of harsh digital bass/synth work and 'real' percussion. the mix sounds clean and good (at least i think, myspace player...). you're right about the bass, if i were you i'd increase the bass notes' decay and throw just a little bit of reverb on there. i think a high passed delay could work as well.
the other tunes are sick too, 1.21 Gigawatts is heavy!! Part Time funk is even heavier, but I wish you'd lose the cutty ranks sample. :) .

i've just rendered a clip of a tune i've been working on, a bit of an eastern vibe.. feedback appreciated of course!
