Just wondering why the Irish, Scots, and Welsh don't rep dub

By the sounds of it it's caught on already - I was at the Loefah/Skream jump-off but missed Benga - although caught him acouple of months ago at the Sub Club.

Man I'd pick Glasgow > pretty much anywhere UK right now. Edinburgh not so much, but it's not a disaster.

Comparing it to London is silly, obviously it's gonna have more stuff going on. But compared to anywhere else we're doing very nicely thank you.

Edit: Go go my 1000th post bigging up Scotland. 0.89 posts a day gets you here eventually.

even cornwall's scene is pretty strong, and we're waaay more backwards than ireland, wales and scotland combined

just because you dont hear of things doesnt mean they are not going on!

but one thing i would say in scotland is theres many a good dance that doesnt get the turn out it deserves

big up the Eliminators for pushing dubstep from time

Also, little known facts - Pinch is originally born in Aberdeen, Benny Ill's grandpa used to work on the clyde in the shipyards, and Loefah's dad is from easterhouse. So they would be eligible to play for Scotland. Also one of the best dubstep tunes of all time has a picture of a piper in a kilt on the label. Go figure!

And we have two of the finest soundsystems in the whole of the uk in the shape of mungos and the bass warrior.

shit im from north west wales and i didnt know nuthin about dubstep in holyhead!

warm data is not specificly a dubstep label,it is not tied down to just one style of electronik musik,as far as im aware it is not based in holyhead just that 3 of the artists come from this shithole ! namely cutch,dan radstock and dez williams...who incidently has a new album out on patrick pulsinger's vienna based label cheap,broken art...if you like electro its well worth a listen....

To some extent its just a numbers game.

The combined population of Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Republic of Ireland is about the same as the London metropolitan area (13-14m). Also, bear in mind that those in the London agglomeration are all crammed into a (relatively) small space, whereas the rest of us are spread all over the place.

i.e. crews from reading, bournemouth, brighton wherever will head to London and hear big Dubstep DJs, but you don't get many crews from Shetland or Aberdeen or Inverness rocking up to nights in Glasgow/Edinburgh (cos they are all at least 250 km away)

Anyways, I'm from Scotland, so theres a start!

Don't sleep on Echodub either. Mans is from around the world(and Women, I do recall Emi Ono was on that release yea?) but based in Scotland eh?

I'm Scotch Irish and German, so not only do I experience great internal conflicts, I also count--even though I live stateside(haha but my family came here in like the 1600's and the 1870's respectively). Biggin up the Emerald Isle, and all that. Pass the Potato's and the whiskey boys!
