Few times, but I've never had anything on me. It's usually down to "someone doing something matching your description" which is absolute bollocks.

The one which always makes me laugh is when I've got my hoody up on a cold, wet December day and they then pull up in a van, about 5 of them get out, surround me and ask me what I'm doing with my hoody up.

"Er...it's Winter, and raining."-

-To which they still searched me and took down all my details, including address, number and work place.

I've got done a few times for being absolutely fucking hammered, but that was probably my fault, really.

That fucking sucks. I got the "nod and wink" from a policeman the other day... walking along near my flat with my hood up (it's fucking cold) and two cops walked past me in the other direction each giving me a sort of knowing smile, nod and wink like a "We're watching you..."

FFS, I'm a 5'8" IT worker and I'm cold. I'm not out mugging old ladies you stupid fucks.

reading through this thread just reminded me of when back in the day this scrawny scabby looking kid used to hang out with us, notorious for shoplifting went into woolworths (RIP) and came back out a minute later followed by about 4 security guards who stood at the doors staring at him.

we were across the road in kfc having some munch and all of a sudden police rush in and hold us over the counter. there was about 6-8 of us, each with bags full of paint, cops empty each bag onto the counter, literally lined it with paint there was so much. i got really paranoid cause any amount of spray paint and cops dont mix let alone this much and had no idea why we were being searched but one of them started shouting 'WHERES THE CD PLAYER THEN? WHERE IS IT THEN?' apparently the security guards called the police on him even though he didnt touch anything and they took their word for it and searched us all. wish i had got a photo of the amount of paint in kfc was insane

So I'm always (I've lost count) picked out at customs. Got to the point where I now schedule my pick up an hour late to allow for it. Ridiculous....
