Reason. Drum Mixdowns.

ok. I'm using reason 3.

Once i've created a drum loop on reason using redrum machines is there anyway to export each hit as an individual wav file in one go so i can use/work on those files separately in something like cubase for example?

I currently have to do them one at a time - audio mixdowns for each one - and it takes quite a while. Just want to speed up my music making.

Bit of help much appreciated.

unfortunately you have to do it one at a time.

i hope someone can prove me wrong, but I've never found a way.

flip the rack, wire each redrum channel to the main mixer and mute solo each channel when you want to export

yeah, you are stuck doing it one by one. Just export the wav of each then load them into cubase and mix them down form there.

you should just rewire the invidual channels.

thanks guys. I do rewire when i'm putting my songs together. Did you mean that i can rewire individual channels to individual audio channels in cubase? i.e. rewire 14 channels at once?

wouldn't sound quality be compromised doing it that way?

I don't use rewire but I was under the impression you can rewire individual channels from a mixer, NNXT, redrum etc. to individual cubase channels to apply effects.

Yeh it depends on how many channels your soundcard has. Take each instruments output up to the rewire top and plug in. ie: I've got 10 channels to use. These are then put to seperate tracks in cubase. But remember to turn on the channels in Cubase.

I dunno about cubase, but in logic / reaper / ableton or anything else I've used you can rewire 64 channels from Reason 3 into the host, when in ReWire mode Reason has no idea how many outs the soundcard has, you can see this by going into Preferances >> Audio when Reason is rewired & the usual options are greyed out as the host controls all that.
