Dubstep with grime vocals

Post by whitelight » Thu Dec 25, 2008 11:49 pm

Hi!

Looking for dubstep tracks with heavy grime vocals.

Milanese feat. Virus Syndicate - Dead Man Walking, is a good example of what I'm looking for.

Anyone have something to recommend?

durrty goodz has a vocal of a coki track (tortured or shattered, i can never remember which one), its called 'take back the scene'.

there's a goodz vocal of starkey's 'gutter music' forthcoming on keysound.

"i'm a sinner" (wiley) and "violate 'cause i'm a sinner" (dot rotten) are both edits/remixes of 'sinner' by various production.

there's a distance remix of dead man walking as well.

Also Sensi dub by cotti and cluekid sickist tune ever! has bits of grimey vocals, i think its grimey anyway, i don't know to much about grime. Something i'd like to hear more i think though...

dusk and blackdown album is in this grime/dubstep crossover area...

look around for plastician mixes for dj sets full of this kind of stuff...

tbh if you can 'handle' the grime vocals then listen to some grime! There's a lot of crap being made but there's also some fucking amazing stuff out there, and IMO the best dubstep sets I've seen have had the odd well chosen grime tune thrown in there for a bit of variety.

but if you want standard dubstep beats + vocal then watch out for new bits from gatekeeper: sounds like some tunes with an mc are about to drop ...

Sets worth checking out are OGz with N Type, Plastician with Skepta Kode9 with Wiley, Dusk & Blackdown with Trim. The last one and a link to the Wiley one is on Blackdowns blog. I need to find links for the others. AH YEAH! And Tubby with Wiley, that set is LIVE! I wish I had links though, I might try and upload the ones I have.
