i imagine those headphones will produce 8hz tones at a volume so small that the human ear wouldn't be able to distinguish them. generally best to listen to the headphones or the user opinions, and ignore the specs.

the input impedance spec and sensitivity specs are the only really useful ones, as they suggest how easily your headphone amplifier will be able to drive the cans.

i use sennheisers, not because of the sound quality but because i can stand on them repeatedly and they dont break

Ultrasone 750s all the way, been doing mixdowns on these without monitors recently then checking on my mates monitors and getting an accurate response esp. the low end and they come with a decent case so you can take on planes/other countries etc - was sat in kuala lumpar airport writing a beat with these on last week - getting all kinds of strange looks

i have been using these lately, i got them for djing when my audio technicas broke... they are a lot less comfortable, but i like the sounds of both really, i feel that i can get used to any set of headphones, it's really just learning how to compare what you hear to what you would hear anywhere else- just like learning your monitors, it can take months or longer! (for me anyway)

Sony MDR7509HD are ultra precise in low and high frequencies, very flat. The stereo image is great too. It's a kind of audio "magnifying glass". But they are closed, after a 2 or 3 hours you must make a little break.

buy Sennheiser HD25s. seriously man.....no other cans come close. you can mixdown on these babys.....and thats saying something......the ultrasones are ok, but in my opinion the HD25s sound better, they are more isolated and give a very accurate bottom end, plus they are modular so you can buy every oart of the headphones separately if you fuck them. i bought a pair about 7 years ago and i still have the same pair, ive only had to replace the foam around the earpeices.

buy them. go to thomann.de and you will find them cheaper than anywhere.....

not all cans are right for everyone.

i have ultrasone dj1pros and you can replace every piece by itself too, including buying new foam pads for over your ear. if you cant replace many of the parts individually on your headphones then you arent buying pro level gear

MDR V900 are what i've been using for about 4 years now and i think they are solid. if/when they ever die or i happen into a shit ton of money that i can spend on headphones, i am totally getting these..

ATH m50s.... ultrasones are a waste of money. I find i can mix just as well on my M50s as i can on my BM6as maybe even better sometimes.

Just got mine today and they are flippin mental really wish i would have bought these rather than wasteing time trying to find some good cheap ones.

I just got these bad boys as a Christmas present to myself

Unfortunately there is what I think is a bad solder in one cup

I have to tilt the left ear cup to get sound to come out. So I will be getting a replacement.

They sound amazing tho. So quick and precise. The thing I noticed first was how each sound in the music sounds separate. Like with my own tunes I like to layer up the bass sounds. On my monitors it comes out like one big bass sound but in the cans each layer is clearly defined. The ambiance from the sampled drum sounds is very clear too. Plus they are so comfy to wear and the sound it self is not fatiguing. Most stores I looked at had them listed at 450 usd but I got them significantly cheaper than that so look around. The k701's are even cheaper. I don't have any experience on any other high end cans but with all the research I have put in now I am very curious on how all the various headphones sound.

Only problems with em I guess are they are a bit tight so if you have a giant fat head I wouldn't reccomend em. I've heard that they snap across the top but mine are solid as and they are kept only in the studio... Can get a little fatigued after a long while, as you will with any headfone

EDIT: Oh yeah, it's the Sennheiser 280 HD

Just got these for Christmas from the old ball and chain herself. Very pleased for the price... that she had to pay.

I recently got some sennheiser hd212 pro's and they're mint, really comfy, good bass, everything about em is ace and only around 40-50 quid.

I just bought the new Sennheiser HD380Pros on a recomendation from DLX... went in to buy the Ultrasone DJ1's and every clerk in Guitar Center was raving about the HD380 pros, so I gave em a go... they have the same angled speaker design as the Ultrasones and sound amazing.

Very comfortable and light, and didnt tire my ears out at all after my first session. Working well as DJ cans too. Also, every part is replaceable. My only complaint so far is that the cord isnt as long as the cord on my Sonys, but Im sure Ill adjust. Came with a nice fold flat zip up soft case too.

They list for about $235 US, but Im sure you can find em cheaper if you know where to look.
